"Ich Liebe Dich" – (Chapter: Day One)
Daniel said, ‘You said you start in 2 days; that you’ll be a waitress and a singer.’
Franzi said, ‘Yes. I just happen to start on a karaoke night. And I get to keep the tips I make while singing.’
Daniel said, ‘That’s great. I didn’t know you ever wanted to sing.’
Franzi said, ‘Well…I kept hearing all these club songs and I thought I might as well try.’
Daniel proposed a toast when the music got low. ‘I know it’s just the three of us but I don’t give a damn.’ Then he said, ‘I can’t remember who said that in "Gone With The Wind" but there it is.’ Then he went about the real toast. ‘Paula and Franzi. You are my friends. You are my family. And nothing will ever change that.’ Then he raised his glass and said ‘To friends and family.’
Paula and Franzi said together, ‘To friends and family’ and clinked glasses together with Daniel.
When Daniel left, Paula and Franzi felt tired as they finished the pizza after their full day. Paula had been given a fine sendoff and Franzi had said all her farewells to her classmates and her friends. All they had left was the bed cushion and sheets to sleep on tonight.
Paula said, ‘You know? I don’t think I ever really noticed how quiet it is here at night.’
Franzi lied down and asked, ‘Are you regretting moving?’
Paula sat on her half of the cushion, nodded, and answered ‘No.’ Then she lied down with Franzi and asked, ‘You?’
Franzi said, ‘No’ then she put her hand on top of Paula’s and said, ‘Atleast we can relax in the calm, romantic, silence of the country’ and kissed Paula’s lips.
Paula said, ‘Let’s just get some sleep tonight.’ Then she cuddled close to Franzi and fell asleep easy.
The next day, Paula and Franzi drove to Munstertal in no hurry. They enjoyed the view of the countryside. Franzi let herself sleep for most of the trip while Paula drove. Paula had the refrigerator, bed cushions, and Franzi’s scooter in a tow cab behind the car. There wasn’t any food inside the fridge so nothing was going to spoil in the summer heat. All Paula and Franzi had to do was show up at the cabin, open the cab, unload all the contents, and call it a day at home. When they finally unloaded Franzi’s scooter, Paula slammed the door shut on the cab and parked the car.
