Lasting Impressions – (Chapter: Six- Not Easily Forgotten)

Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. The insistent beeping if the alarm clock beside her bed was enough to make Spencer fling an arm out in the direction it was coming from, “Lily…Get the alarm…” She groaned out groggily blinking her eyes open to see why Lily, “the morning person” was yet to be roused from sleep. But, the spot beside her that was usually occupied by the sunny brunette was empty, the only sign of her existence being the slight impression in the pillow where her head had laid.

A bit confused and still in a slightly dreamy state, Spencer sat up, grudgingly switching off the alarm clock and looking around. She had this odd dislike for waking up alone, it always made her feel so abandoned. As she rose from the comforting warmth of her bed and into the cold discomfort of early morning Los Angeles, she noticed a small note left on her bed stand.

    Spence-

Had to meet early with publishers. Will be back late tonight. Sorry, I know you hate waking up alone, I’ll make it up to you tomorrow.

    Love ya,
    Lil

A small heart had been drawn in the open space left on the note, and it forced a small smile to upturn her lips. “Love you too.” She spoke aloud, setting the slip of paper down and shuffling into the kitchen. A bowl, spoon, empty cup and box of cereal had already been set out for her. Leave it to Lily to do a thousand things at 5am. Spencer hardly functioned until around 7:30. Smiling she poured milk into the bowl and coffee into the cup, beginning to eat. Her blue eyes stared at the back of the cereal box that she already had memorized, going over the little puzzles in her mind.

Despite herself, she found her thoughts wandering to Ashley. “I wonder if she’s awake yet?” She pondered out loud as she set her now dirty dishes in the sink. She managed to convince herself that it was only curiosity that made Ashley such a recurring thought in her mind, “Hell, you only loved her. And you haven’t seen her in close to ten years. It’s only natural to be a bit curious.” She reasoned, making her way into the bathroom to shower.

    5. I was actually going a bit crazy from not writing so I decided to not be a whimp and tough it out. I pick up my perscription for Vicodin tomorrow though, so pretty soon you’ll be getting Vica-land stories… Hahaha… And I am thrilled you like Spily. (SpencerLily) That is my intention. To rid you with guilt for rooting for Spashley… Hahaha. BTW, no one should be positive that we are going to end up with a Spashley. I make no promises.
