Lost in the Move – (Chapter: Six Weeks Later)

    Spencer’s POV

Whoa!  What the hell is going on?  One minute we’re having a nice dinner then the next Ashley’s outted at the dinner table.  I look at Ash and she looks dumb founded.  She glances over at me looking for a signal of what I want her to do.  Shit, I don’t know.  It’s like I have two tiny Spencers sitting on my shoulders.  One dressed in blue with a halo telling me to tell the truth and one in red with a pitch fork saying lie my ass off.  Ugh, fuck the devil Spencer, blue is much more my color.

"What does it matter if Ashley is gay?  And Glen don’t ever call her a dyke again or I’ll make you cry.  And you know I can."  I say sternly staring daggers at my older brother.  It’s true, he may be my big brother but I can still make him cry when I want to.  What can I say I’m scrappy.

"I don’t think it matters if Ashley is gay or not.  I like her either way."  Clay interjects.  Until this point my dad and Clay  had been silently observing the train wreck formally  known as dinner.  As if I didn’t already love my brother to death, my respect for him grew immensly.

"I agree with Clay.  And Ashley is a guest in our house and doesn’t deserve to be talked to in that manner Glen.  You should apologize right now young man and then go to your room."  My dad ordered.

"No Arthur.  I want to know if it’s true.  Ashley are you gay?"  My mom questioned.  I give Ashley my most supportive look.  I want her to be honest, but I know the outcome will be hell.

"Thank you Clay and Mr. C for defending me.  But the truth is Mrs. C, I am gay.  I know you think that it’s wrong and that you already don’t like me much, but I’m not ashamed of it."  Ashley says calmly.  Wow, I love this girl.  Did I just say love?  We’ve only been dating six weeks, I can’t love her yet.  Can I?  Oh fuck it!  I am definitely in love with Ashley Davies.

"Get out."  My mother says fuming.  "I won’t have some filthy homosexual in my house.  And don’t think about seeing or talking to Spencer.  You will not corrupt my daughter."
