Chapter 8-Collins’ Distraction

 After the sex scene….

In the cafeteria at breakfast….

 Kat walks up to Sister Immaculata.

Kat:  Sister Immaculata, I am worried about Miss Bradley and Annabelle. They haven’t been down to breakfast yet. 

Sister Immaculata gets up from her chair, and Kat returns to her seat.  Collins scurries out to the hallway to distract Sister Immaculata before she goes up the stairs.

Collins:  Sister Immaculata, I need you immediately.  I really need your guidance right now.  I have so much going on, and I need someone as intelligent and insightful as you (trying to keep her from searching for Simone and Annabelle in fear that they are together and will be caught). 

Sister Immaculata:  What can I help you with Collins?

Collins:  I had a really bad night at the dance, and the boy I like doesn’t like me.  What should I do?

Pause

Sister Immaculata begins to walk toward the stairs.

Collins:  Am I sexy, Sister Immaculata?

(silence)

Sister Immaculata raises her eyebrow, surprised by Collins’ odd question and does not respond.  She then takes Collins to her office.

Sister Immaculata:  Collins, come with me.

Meanwhile, Annabelle and Simone wake up.

Simone:  Annabelle, wake up (shakes her).

Annabelle rolls over and looks at the clock.

Simone:  Fuck. We have to get up.

Annabelle and Simone get dressed.  Annabelle grabs her things and gently touches Simone’s hand on her way out the door.  Annabelle hurries down the hall to her room, and Simone sits down to think of some excuse as to why they were late.

Simone puts her hand on her head and sits at her desk.

Simone:  That did not just happen (to herself thinking of her night with Annabelle).

Sister Immaculata and Collins finish their conversation, and Collins walks back to the cafeteria.  Annabelle walks to the cafeteria and runs into Collins on the way. Collins smiles at her and they say nothing.  Collins and Annabelle enter the cafeteria one after the other.

Annabelle sits at the table with her tray.

Kat:  We missed you last night. Where’d you go?

Annabelle looks at her and says nothing

Kat:  You know, come to think of it, you and Miss Bradley left the dance around the same time and neither one of you were at breakfast. Hmmm.  So, how was she? (sarcastically)
