Mario’s – (Chapter: I Have Something To Tell You)

“Ash…” Spencer say’s poking at the side of my sleepy form.

“Yeah…” I responded with my eye’s still close.

“Ashley, can you please get up?” I groan in roll over onto my stomach to look at the clock, on the nightstand beside my bed.

“Spence, Its only 7am. We just went to sleep not even and hour ago.” I say trying to cover my face up with the blanket were under.

“I know, but…I need to tell you something.” I finally look over at her she’s sitting up in bed with her knees hugged to her chest. Seeing the seriousness on her face, I set up in bed to.

    “Okay, I’m up. Tell me.”

“Okay, but first promise that you want say anything tell I’m finished.”

“Is it that bad.” I say searching her eyes for a clue as to what this could be about.”

“Just promise.” She says biting her lip again.

    “I promise.”

“Okay.” She takes a big breath. “I…I lied when I told you I went out of town last weekend.” As she talks she looks right into my eyes. “I didn’t return your phone calls or call you because I couldn’t. I wanted to but I couldn’t,” After she say’s that she looks away for a minute. When she looks back at me, I can see tears threaten to fall but she refuse to let them out. “I use to have Leukemia. I’ve been in remission for a year now. And Saturday morning I had to go to the hospital for some test.” She pauses for a minute. “I hate test and I hate hospitals… Just the thought of knowing, that it can come back.” I reach over and whip the tears that have escaped from her cheeks with one of my hands, and with my other I take one of her hands in mine and squeeze showing her it’s ok to continue. “I’ve had test before since being in remission, you know? But this time when I went in I had all this symptoms and I was scared so… I shutdown, I couldn’t talk to anyone I didn’t want to leave the house. Even when I found out that everything was fine, it’s was just hard knowing what could have been.” She whips her own face then looks at me in we lock eyes. “Don’t piety me or anything. It’s okay to be mad at me, I lied to you. And I’m sorry. I’m done I just needed to tell you the truth.”

I didn’t say anything I just kissed her with everything I had. When I broke away I rested my forehead against hers.

“I’m not mad…I was when you said you lied. But I’m not anymore. You didn’t call because you wanted to be alone. I get that. I can’t even imagine what you were going through. Plus we weren’t together even thought we both wanted to be.” I stop and give her I light peck on the lips. “But were together now and I want to be here for you. I’m going to be here for you.”

We spent another hour talking and getting everything out in the open. She told me when her next appointment was, and I said I’d be there. Then we finally went to sleep till it was time to get ready for work.
