    Missing Sun

As we raced through the forest, Jasper running alongside Edward who held me on his back, I knew there was no hope in hell we could get there in time. They had her, and they weren't going to wait around for us to come save her, so what was holding them back? Nothing. So basically, our attempts to get to her were pointless. It was only the vision of my daughter writhing in pain as the Volturi's venom coursed through her body that kept me going. NO ONE'S venom shouls be running through her veins except Edward's. She was OUR daughter, not theirs. An equal amount of my blood and Edward's venom was what ran through her body and I would stop at nothing to keep that unchanged. Even if it meant ripping the Volturi's heads off, one by one. Come to think of it, that sounded like fun!

Jasper laughed at my change in mood, and I grinned briefly. When we finally got to Volterra, we stopped. We had two options. Run across to the clock tower at vampire speed, but most likely be caught out because, lets face it, there is no excuse for being able to run at 1000 miles an hour, is there? Or, we could run across at human pace and definitely be spotted because we were sparkling. We decided to take a different option: run around the shadows of the courtyard at human pace to the clock tower. We entered the hidden Volturi hideout and I sprinted down the steps, Edward close behind and Jasper bringing up the rear.

I ran into the Volturi's private room and there sat Aro, Caius and Marcus in their thrones. I sighed and walked up to them.

    "Is it done?" I asked.

"Yes."Aro replied, a slow smile spreading across his lips.

"You couldn't even have let me do it?" I asked, tired and defeated.

"But Bella, I am sure you would have chosen to drain her of blood and end her life rather than her to spend an eternity here, in my companionship."

"Companionship?! More like slavery!" Edward barked, suddenly next to me.

"Edward… It's too late. Aro, can we at least see her." I said hopelessly.

"Why of course." Aro replied pleasantly. I had heard that tone of voice from a vampire before; from James just before he tortured me. This should be fun.
