My Darkness In Death
My darkness in death.
The world is flashing before my eyes;
The stream runs, the raven flies.
The lion roars, the ocean crashes;
There is darkness between these flashes.
The darkness blinds me,
Even though I can’t see.
The grey, blues and the black;
Covering up my only way back.
Floating, fighting, falling,
Waiting for them to hear me calling.
The wind blows, the robin chirps.
The trees groan, the dog slurps.
The white waves fall
I watch the blackness crawl.
Up, up, up. Dragging me under,
But still, I don’t surrender.
The seductive swaying.
It watches me, waiting.
Waiting for the smallest crack
Taking me-making sure I can’t come back.
The tranquility is getting to me
Making it harder to try and flee.
The peacefulness is promising now
But still, I can’t back down.
But now, I feel myself slipping away
And there’s only one thing left to say;
I’m not going to go all cute and sappy,
But now that I’m gone, I hope you’re happy.
