My smile falters with you – (Chapter: when double dating goes wrong)

Spencer sat at the table staring into space waiting for her brothers, there were so many thoughts buzzing around her head; she just wanted it all to stop even if only for a second. It seemed like always that Ashley was never far from her mind even when she was mad at her. It felt like the brunette was haunting her everywhere she went someone or something reminded her of Ash. She was so happy that Sophia and Ashley had not slept together and for a moment everything between them was perfect. But now she was sitting surrounded by the rumble that was once their relationship. Recalling Ashley telling her that she loved her made her whole body hot and her stomach gave a little leap. It felt as if she had been waiting forever to head those words and yet she was still alone, why didn’t anything ever turn out the way you wanted it to?

“Argh.” She let out the little sound of disgust, as if the gesture was going to rid her of the hurt. No such luck.

“Bad day?” The low voice belonged to Aiden who was standing beside her, he smiled at her, and it took all Spencer’s energy to return it.

“Bad is an understatement.” She told him as she looked around to see if Clay or Glen was anywhere near by.

“How about I take you out then?” The handsome guy asked her, already knowing what the answer would be.

“I don’t think that would be a good idea, and I’m not much company right now.” She simply wasn’t in the mood to go out, and she didn’t want to give him any kind of hope.

“It’s purely for cheering up purposes, just as friends.” He wanted to add the last part so that Spencer didn’t think he was hitting on her. “Please?” He asked and with his wide smile she caved into his request. It would be nice to go out and she did need to get out of the house otherwise thoughts of Ashley would only play on her mind.

“Ok.” She said with a heavy sigh.

“Don’t sound too enthused, but before you change your mind, I’ll pick you up about eight.” And with that he bolted and with his quick depart she couldn’t help but grin. She knew that at any moment her mind was going to go back to Ashley so she tried to focus on Aiden, it was no use, she heard her everywhere. It was then she realised that she hadn’t been daydreaming about Ashley she was actually right next to her.

    1. Aww….no way! I did not see that coming! Now I really do like Sophia…this is great. I really hope that these two can work it out. Ashley just can’t be a coward!
