My smile falters with you – (Chapter: White chocolate cookie)

Ashley sipped her coffee as she slammed the car door shut and pressed the button on her key ring to lock the car. She almost dropped her books as she tumbled to put her keys back into her bag. When she thought she had managed to manoeuvre herself and hold everything steady in her arms, that was until Madison walked passed and knocked the books out of her arms.

“Watch out.” Ashley said turning around to watch Madison walk off. “Bitch.”

“What was that?” Madison questioned as she heard the insult.

“With ears like satellites I don’t know how you missed it.” Ashley slung back as Madison defensively touched her ears before giving the girl an evil look and walked off. The brunette shook her head as she tried to put up her books. She noticed a shadow and looked behind her to see who it belonged to. “Aiden you could give me a hand instead of just watching me.”

“I was enjoying the view.” He said as his eyes rested back on her backside.

“You’re a perv you know that.” She informed him as she went back to picking all her books back up.

“I’m aware of my title and wear it with pride.” she rolled her eyes, as much as she wanted his help part of her did not feel comfortable being around him at that moment. She had not forgotten that he had gone out with Spencer; when she thought he realised how she felt about the blonde. He handed out her last book which is snatched from him. “Thanks.” It was more of a grunt than a word.

“Ash are you alright?” He asked following her as she walked off.

“Yea.” She didn’t want to go into more detail and she didn’t want to ask the next question but it left her lips before she could help herself. “So you do anything this weekend?”

“Nothing much.” He shrugged. Her eyes widened as he lied to her.

“So nothing Friday night?” She kept pushing the conversation but wished she could glue her mouth shut so no more words tumbled out.

“Um…not really just hung out with Spencer.” Aiden said it as if it was no big deal, just two friends spending time together but Ash knew there was more to it.
