As ashley let the car slowly roll into the carlins driveway she hit the brakes. She put the shift into park then turned the key in the ignition shutting the car off. The headlights left and now it was dark in the car. Spencer felt her stomach doing summersaults into the backseat. She felt a warmth on the bottom of her chin. It was ashleys hands, lifting her gaze to meet her own.

"Hey spencer." Ashley spoke softly. "Im here for you and with you. I’m not gonna let anything bad happen." ashley looked strictly into spencers eyes. "I promise." Those words were all spencer needed to get enough courage to walk up to the front door of the house.

Not much had changed since she was there last. She hit the doorbell and could faintly hear it inside as the familly moved around curiously. The door open and the smell was just as she remembered. It smelled of flowers and candles. Every afternoon paula would light a few candles and spray a little air freshning products. Seems she had kept up the routine.

"Spencer?" Before spencer could say anything, her father had her into his arms hugging her tightly. "Spencer, I’ve been so worried about how you have been since you left."

The warmth of her fathers hug that was now released was replaced by the cool air conditioning unit blowing right towards her. "I’ve been doing fine." Spencer was really nervouse. "Ashley, has been treating me good. So im good. I’m…fine." Spencer could see her mother coming from a door a ways back. The kitchen door exactly. It was about the time they would be doing dishes after dinner. Fright stung into spencers cold body.

"Ashley," her father began as he walked towards ashley. "It’s nice to see you. Thank you. For taking care of spencer." Arthur embraced ashley into a hug. Soon after the boys of the household appeared from behind the door to the kitchen and stood behind paula. They looked like they had changed alot since spencer left.

"What do you want spencer?" Paula finally stepped into the short loving conversation and spread her venom causing the warmth to die down.

Ashley got next to spencer trying to remind her that she was there for her. Ashley tried to subtly bump spencers hand with her own. Spencer felt the warmth over her freezing skin and reached for it. She held ashleys hand giving her more and more confidence with each second. She could feel the eyes upon their hands. "Im here because-" Spencer stopped herself. But when she looked at ashley she continued. "because we should have a talk." Spencer said at last.
