"Miss C?" Ashley called out, a little quietly so that Spencer couldn’t hear it over the running water. "Miss Carlin?!" Ashley called out again. No response. She stepped through the kitchen hoping she was in there, then she began to panic when she wasnt
Ashley walked out into the living room once again, in hopes that the lost piece of the Carlin puzzle had returned. But there was no one in the room but herself. How was Ashley going to explain to her fiancé that her mother had disappeared?
Ashley rushed towards the front door thinking that if she left, she MAY still be there, in the driveway. Upon opening the door, Paula stumbled backwards but maintained her stance a moment later. Her cell phone was attached to her ear and she looked at Ashley with a slight laugh.
"Sorry Ashley. I couldn’t resist calling Arthur to tell him the good news." Paula said guiltily.
Ashley plastered on a smile. "No, it’s fine. Saves me from the bear hug he would have put me in." Ashley joked with a laugh. She was relieved that Paula hadn’t LEFT, but instead stepped out to blab and brag of her daughters wedding plans.
Soon after, Spencer came down the stairs drying her hair with a towel. It was wet, but you could tell that it was blonde again, and Ashley smiled at the sight. "Hey, I’ve got my blondie back!" Ashley said as she leaped towards Spencer and kissed her on the cheek.
"Mom!" Spencer yelled out as she hopped around Ashley and swiftly made her way to her mother, where she was embraced into a loving hug that ended too soon. She missed her mom. Of course she had seen her just yesterday, but it had been a while since they had a chance to just hug and relax.
"Hey sweetie. You act like you haven’t seen me in years." Paula said.
"Well, I don’t know. For some reason it just feels like it."
Paula, Spencer and Ashley all joined together on the couch in the living room . Spencer and Ashley sat together like a lovely picture of perfection on the loveseat while Paula sat in the recliner chair leaving it un-reclined. They went on with discussing a few of they’re plans and they also bantered on about previous events that sent them into a few laughing fits here and there.

I’m so glad to see a “Nice Paula” in this story…although cheating on Arthur is so NOT cool. I love the humorous bits you put in here, too. Ashley falling on her butt because Spencer was afraid of a mouse…hysterical! I’m also glad they seem to be out of that rough spot from several chapters ago. You had me worried there for a while!

GREAT UPDATE CHICKA!!!! I just got back from work and I just wanted to leave you a comment about this chapter. I can’t believe that Mrs. C is cheating on Mr. C. I am glad that Spencer and Ashley are talking about their wedding ideas and even though its not true what Kelly said about Amanda, I am glad that their friendship is progressing very well. HEY clomle44, I am glad that you are checking for missed spelled words in sonXluffer’s story because she really does need it, LMAO!!! I am just kidding buddy!!! TTYL and PMS!!!
