    Official Girl – (Chapter: One)

Ms Johnson: “Well that’s too bad isn’t it? Come on in young lady…”

They waited for about ten seconds before Ashley decided that their new roommate most likely had a hearing problem. Ms. Johnson called her in once again, but still the girl didn’t budge.

Ms Johnson: “Ms. Carlin? You can go on in now.”

Erin: “Carlin? As in Michelle Carlin?! I totally thought she was lying when she told me she was transferring here.”

Ashley looked at her in surprise. She hoped that this Michelle girl wasn’t like Erin when she first came here. Erin was one of the most boring, nerdy girls that Ashley had ever known.

Ms Johnson: “Well, if you know this lady… can she not hear or something?”

Erin laughed as she stood up off the bed.

Erin: “I know how to handle this.”

Erin sidestepped Ms. Johnson out the door. The girl’s back was to her. She reached around and snatched the girl’s earphones out of her ear. The girl whirled around and to Erin’s surprise, it wasn’t Michelle.

Spencer: “What the… Can I help you?”

Spencer chuckled a little at this strange girl who had pulled her earphones out. She looked her up and down and Spencer was for sure that she didn’t know her.

Erin: “Oh, I am so sorry! It’s just that you favor my friend… Michelle. But it’s kind of stupid now because she doesn’t even go here.”

Spencer could tell that this girl was embarrassed. She smiled and shook her head in reassurance.

Ms Johnson: “Well now that this is settled, make sure to make her feel at home.”

The girls looked after her in astonishment. Ashley came to stand behind
Erin and looked Spencer up and down. She tossed her hair to the side as she leaned against the doorframe.

Ashley: “So what… is she your friend?”

Erin: “Actually, no. This is… I’m sorry, what’s your name?”

Spencer: “I’m Spencer. And actually you weren’t all wrong. Michelle’s room is right on the next floor.”

Both Ashley and Erin had confused looks on their faces. Spencer laughed.

Spencer: “She’s my cousin. Hence the resemblance.”

Ashley rolled her eyes as Spencer said it. Spencer definitely didn’t look like a nerd, and if she was… she was definitely a hot nerd. To Ashley, she just sounded like a nerd.

Erin: “Really?! That’s so awesome. You guys seem like you’re a lot alike. By the way, I’m Erin and this is my… friend, Ashley.”

Spencer could tell that Erin was going to say something else, but at this point, Spencer really didn’t care. She just wanted to get unpacked and lay down.

Spencer: “Nice to meet you guys. So…”

    Erin: “So… what’s Michelle’s room number?”

Spencer shook her head and laughed. Laughing was the only thing that kept Spencer from being annoyed right then. She was exhausted and all this Erin chick could do was ask about Michelle.

Spencer: “You two must have been best friends. But anyway, it’s 2b.”

Ashley’s mouth dropped open as Erin just walked away. Erin stopped on the bottom stair.

Erin: “Thanks. And yeah, we were. Umm… Ashley can show you where to put your stuff.”

And with that, Erin took off up the stairs. Evidently, she had forgotten all about her conversation earlier with Ashley. Ashley looked at Spencer when she felt her eyes on her. Ashley smirked and scoffed.

    Ashley: “Don’t look at me…”

Ashley threw her shoes on and walked past Spencer and out the door…
