Preciosa – (Chapter: The Cabin Part Three)

    Chapter Thirty-Seven

‘Man this has been a weird day…first I see Paula in the buff…then we tell her about the wedding…she freaks and then now she’s fine with everything? Something is really off here…why can’t Mr. C. and Spence see it too?’ Ashley thought staring out the window in the guest bedroom.

Spencer looked inside the room and saw Ashley deep in thought. She watched as Ashley breathed in and out slowly. She knew that she had to speak to Ashley about what happened with her mom. ‘I hope she doesn’t really think that I buy my mom’s story.’ Spencer thought shaking her head. Her mother was not one to be trusted but she was also one who should never be crossed. It was better to play along with the older blonde than to fight with her.

Ashley noticed Spencer standing in the doorway and turned her head to look at her fiancée. She sent a small smile at the blonde and motioned for her to join her on the bed.

Spencer made her way over and sat next to the brunette. She rested her head on Ashley’s shoulder and slid her arm around her waist.

“What are you thinking?” Spencer asked the brunette softly.

“That your mother was abducted by aliens and they left a much more evil Paula-bot behind.” Ashley said leaning her head against the blonde’s.

Spencer smiled softly. “Hey…I hope you don’t think that I bought what my mom was selling out there…”

“You didn’t? Could have fooled me.”

“Believe me…I know how my mother works…if she thinks she’s in control she tends to back off. I know it doesn’t make much sense…”

“No I guess it does make sense…Is your dad just pretending as well?” Ashley said tracing her finger over Spencer’s knee.

“That I’m not sure…He has to be.”

    “And if he isn’t?”

“Well then he must really love my mom to believe what she was saying.”

“So are we really going to let your mom help us with the wedding?”

“Sure…we will just let her be in charge of the punch or something. Nothing major because we may end up with dead roses for flowers or half-naked bridesmaids.”
