    Ash gets a visitor and the past rears its beautiful face… again

    The rest of the day passed remarkably uneventfully, although I soon realized it was due to it being a FACT that nothing could really top my morning on the scale of all things eventful.  Everything else was positively dull in comparison to the ugly moment I was involved with that fateful morning.  Fortunately I didn’t have any of my own projects that were particularly pressing, and so sat in on most of Aiden’s meetings… anything to keep my mind from going on overdrive with all thoughts of Spencer.

    And so my day quickly passed me by, and by six I was shoving my key in the front door of my apartment, dumping my bag down under the table by the door, and hanging my coat and jacket on a hook above it.  I was satisfied by the metallic clanging sound my keys made when landing in the bowl that sat precariously on the edge of the table. I should really get around to moving that. I meandered through my freezing cold and darkened dwellings, making my way to the kitchen, stopping by my impressively large fish tank on the way.  Its gurgling filter was the only sound in my apartment, and the colourful lights the only means I had of finding my way, as I hadn’t gotten round to turning on any lamps yet – I didn’t see the point, as I was the only one there and didn’t really care about how aesthetically pleasing or homely my environment was.  Lifting the lid of the tank and tipping in some food, I mused that my fish couldn’t even be bothered to come out of their hidey-holes and foliage to bubble a ‘hi’ upon my arrival home – not even when a million tiny bits of fish food were drifting through the clear water.  I knew I should have gotten a dog. As punishment, I tapped loudly on the glass and turned away.

    Looking towards my answer phone, I was satisfied to see the small LED screen was still and not flashing maniacally at me – 0 messages. No change there, then.

    After flicking on some lights, I finally reached my destination – the kitchen, and dumped the small pile of letters I had retrieved from my mail box in the foyer of my apartment building down on one of the work surfaces.  All bills, and I knew it, so I just pushed them away from me as I considered my next move.  Work wasn’t for another 12 hours, and I had nothing planned with my evening, therefore it seemed like yet another one of those long nights settled in front of the TV with nothing but a bottle of Jack to keep me company.  Ah well, he’s pretty good company after all.  And after the day I’d had, drowning in a bottle of Tennessee seemed like a good way to end it.

    2. Wow. Now we know why Ash is pissed. I would be too if the person I was falling in love with did that to me. Update soon, would ya? I’m ready for some more “project new girl”. :] Woot. And I think there might just be more behind the story then what is at first revealed. Hmm?
