Ashley: “Spencer, I’m sorry. You’re too good for him anyway.”

She plops down next to me on my bed, puts her head on my shoulder and continues sobbing. I put my arm around her waist and rub her hair with my free hand.

Spencer: “I thought he loved me.” she sobbed.

Ashley: “He’s an idiot. He doesn’t matter, I love you.”

She stops sobbing and tilts her head to look at me. Her hair is ruffled, mascara running, and it makes her look even more beautiful.
