PREVIOUSLY:

We get home and my mom and dad’s car is here, along with Christine’s.

Spencer: “We’re dead.” I say nervously, looking at Ashley.

We go in the house and are greeted by the three angry adults.

Paula: “Chaos and mayhem!?”

Christine: “Your principal called us all from work saying you two caused a major disruption in school!”

Arthur: “What exactly happened?”

SPENCER’S P.O.V.

We’re in the principal’s office with my mom and Ashley’s. When we arrived back at school all the students were cheering and clapping for us.

Principal: “She serenaded Ashley in the quad.” I squirm, looking around nervously. My eyes land on Ashley and she’s staring at me and smiling.

Ashley: “I love you.” she mouths.

Spencer: “I love-”

Principal: “Ahem!” he coughs, getting me and Ashley’s attention. He’s looking at us sternly.

Principal: “She caused a major disruption, interrupting the students from class causing chaos and mayhem.” he says looking at his papers. “This is highly unusual for Spencer. She’s usually a very good student.”

Paula: “We’re very sorry about this.”

Principal: “And Ashley…she went right along with it. I understand that at this age, relationships are very important, but they cannot cause disruptions like this. I’m sorry but I have no choice but to suspend the two of you for three days.”

Ashley: “Like that’s a real punishment.” she mumbles. Christine turns to her and gives her a stern look.

Principal: “I urge you not to take this suspension lightly, because if either of you two pull another stunt like this the consequences will be more severe.”

Christine: “We assure you, nothing like this will ever happen again. At least not from these two.” she says while glaring at us.

So…we’re suspended. We’re on our way to the car, walking through the quad with my mom and Christine. Aiden runs up to us.

Aiden: “Thanks a lot Spencer. The principal heard you thank me as you ran off with Ashley and now my parents are on their way up here to talk to him.” he says annoyed.

Spencer: “Sorry Aid.”

Aiden: “Well…" he sighs. "I could use a vacation anyway. Besides, it was for a good cause, right?” I just smile at him.

He stops walking along with us.

Aiden: “But hey, looks like my plan worked.” he shouts to us, smiling and motioning between me and Ashley.

We’re in the car.

Paula: “No phone.”

Christine: “No music.”

Paula: “No computer.”

Christine: “No car.”

Ashley: “Oh come on mom!”

Christine: “I said no!”

Paula: “And no TV.”

Spencer: “So.” I mumble.

Christine: “I don’t think this is gonna work.”

Paula: “I know what will” she looks at us through the rearview mirror.

Paula: “You’re both grounded, so that means no PDA, no room visits nothing for three days!” Ashley and my eyes turn into saucers.

Spencer: “You can’t do that!”

Christine: “It’s only three days.”

Spencer: “Only three days? ONLY three days?! Are you aware of what you’re saying?!”

Paula: “I think we know.”

Ashley: “But you’re cutting off my arm here! You can’t keep us apart we live in the same house!”

Christine: “You are to stay in your rooms during this suspension. You can only come out to eat and use the bathroom.” I see Ashley smile.

Christine: "And not at the same time." she adds, causing Ashley’s smile to fade.

Ashley: “You do realize you’re only making us resent you right?”

Paula: “Maybe you’ll think about that the next time you disrupt school.”

Spencer: “This is cruel and unusual punishment!”

Ashley: “You guys suck.” she mumbles, but obviously I wasn’t the only one that heard her.

Christine: “Do you want to make it a month?” she warns.

Ashley and I just sigh angrily. She takes my hand and intertwines our fingers together. I scoot closer to her and cuddle in her arms trying to enjoy the little time we have left together. How are we gonna get through this?
