    Star Studded – (Chapter: One)

“Ashley Davies?” I ask, rubbing my temples as I fought off an upcoming headache. “Who the hell is that?”

Glen chuckles. I roll my eyes at him.

“You really need to get out Spence.” He says. “She’s only like one of the hottest artists out right now.” My eyes narrow. He quickly backtracks. “I mean, besides you of course.”

I swear if this guy wasn’t my brother, I would totally fire him. It’s true when people say don’t work with your family, and I was dumb enough to hire Glen as my manager. I listen as he babbles on, complimenting me in every way he can think of. I hold up my hand, stopping him.

“Well, Glen…If she’s so big, then why haven’t I heard of her?” I ask, smirking. I’m not really worried. My fans are loyal to me. I’m sure she’s only another half dressed wannabe. My parents raised me with morals…don’t undress in front of a camera.

                “Umm…Spence. You’re kind of self-centered.”

I whip my head around to stare at Glen. No he didn’t. He holds his hands up, backtracking again.

“I mean, not in a mean kind of way. It’s just that you only worry about yourself.” Glen shrugs. “You don’t notice other artists unless they’re serious competition.”

I shrug.  “Well she must not be serious competition.” I say, finally removing my fingers from my temples. Glen purses his lips. I frown. “What?” I ask.

“Spence…” He starts, nervously. “She’s number two on the charts.”

I freeze.  Number two? That’s impossible. I could’ve sworn I was just number two. I rise slowly out of my seat.

“Well then, what am I?” I ask. I almost sigh in relief at Glen’s face shattering grin.

                “You’re number one babe!”

“Oh my gosh!” I all but yell. I don’t even realize I’m running until Glen catches me in his arms. “Wooh!” I shout. My voice echoes throughout our large LA apartment.

“You did good Spence.” He says, holding me close.

I sigh. This is one of those tender brother-sister moments. I better enjoy it now. I’m sure Glen’s about to say something to mess it up.

“Clay would be proud.” He whispers. I nod my head into his chest before stepping back.
