“So enough about me, how’s Aiden?” I said. Kaylen beamed.

“He is good. I am good. WE are good.” She said with a huge smile. “We went to Vallejo on Saturday to the Six Flags Marine world. It was a blast. Then he had to study all day Sunday so I went to the library with him.”

“Oh, how cute. The two future doctors studying together!” I teased.

“Smart is sooo sexy.” Kaylen replied with a wink.

“Oh please don’t tell me you broke in OUR study room!?” I asked not really wanting to knowing the answer.

“What? We needed a study break…”

“Oh Kaylen seriously!!” We were definitely going to have to find a different study room.

“Hey don’t pull that double standard on me! I know full well that you and Jena used our study room for a ‘study break’ or two.”

Okay so Kaylen was right. Smart was sexy and study time always needs study breaks. It was almost time for our 10 am class so grabbed our bags and started walking towards class.

“Hey you said Ashley gets back into town on Friday right?” Kaylen asked.

“Yeah that’s what she said on Sunday, why?” I asked.

“We should all go out on Friday or Saturday.” Kaylen said.

“That sounds good. I will talk to her about it and see what day works for her.” I replied as we walked into class.

The week was flying by. It was already Thursday, I hadn’t heard from Ashley yet. I was bummed but at the same time I had been so busy with school and the clinic that I didn’t have enough time to sit around and wonder why she hadn’t called. I had spent most of my evenings locked up with Kaylen in our study room pouring over notes and books. It was mid October and midterms were looming. I had finally caught up on some emails with my family and filled Glen in with the latest happenings with Ashley.

When I got home later Thursday evening it was still muggy and hot. I needed sometime to get away from the books. I told Grams that I was going to take some laps at the pool. I loved going in later evening. The pool was secure and there were never any people so I got to have it all to myself most of the time.
