    Spencer’s got a date, but is there a way that Ashley can ruin it again?

    It’s been two whole months since that night, and I’ve gotten by pretty well.  The trash man came by, and they took everything from that bag.  I’ve managed to put my heart back together piece by piece, but I still think about her every night.  The story came out on the tabloids.  She said that she’d love me forever, but there with her career, it just wouldn’t work.  If people only knew how true that was.  So, it’s Friday.  I’m actually going on a date with a girl that I met through a friend.  Her name is Jessica, and she is beyond gorgeous.  She’s a musician, but I guess I’ve always been attracted to that.  Anyway, she called about a week ago.  She got my number from our mutual friend.  We talked for a while.  She’s really sweet.  The great thing is that she doesn’t talk about Ashley, and I really like that.

    So, the doorbell rings at seven sharp.  She hands me a white rose.  This is going to go well.

    "Hey."  She says shyly.  "You just seemed like a white rose kind of girl."

    "Thanks.  And, I am."  I smile.

    "You look so beautiful."  She says.

    "Thanks.  You too."

    We get in the car, and the car ride is a comfortable silence.  She reaches over, and she grabs my hand.  It feels nice.  She just smiles at me when I look at her.

    "So, where are we going?"  I am.

    "It’s a surprise girl."  She says as we pull up at the beach.  Yay, I love surprises.

    We walk out to the beach, and I am so glad that I wore these flip flops.  There is already a blanket set up on the beach with a cute little picnic basket sitting on it with a guitar sitting beside it.  This scene is all to familar to me, but she doesn’t know that.  I sit down.

    "So, I had no idea what kind of food you like.  So, I made peanut butter and jelly, turkey and cheese, and ham and cheese sandwhices."  She’s nervous, and it is so cute.

    "I like them all.  Just hand me one."

    She does, and we spend the rest of the night talking.  I tell her my life story, and she tells me hers.  The subject of Ashley never comes up, and I am so grateful.  After about two hours, I want to hear her play.

    4. I hate seeing Ash and Spence apart but I do think Spence deserves to be happy. I like Jessica and I think she’ll be good for her. Hopefully Ash won’t realize who much she fucked up till it’s too late. PMS!!
