The College Life – (Chapter: Chapter 7: A Night At Ashley's)

To say the car ride to Ashley’s apartment was awkward would be an understatement. She must have caught on to how suddenly uncomfortable I was because shortly after I got in her car then we grew silent. She fidgeted with the radio stations, never landing on one for too long. I keep giving her side glances and when she meets my eyes then I quickly look away. I don’t think Kyla would make up that Ashley’s gay but what does that matter? That’s when it hits me. Gay or not, Ashley’s still the same person I met in class that day, still the same person I long to know more of, still the person I ran after and still the same gorgeous person I saw underneath the moonlight earlier tonight. My heart jumps again when I recall the memory of the look she gave me. With this recent discovery, my mood lightens. If Ashley is indeed gay then I will find out with time but there’s no reason for me to freak out about it.

I let out a contented sigh and remember why I’m with Ashley right now, to hear about her and Aiden’s relationship. Ashley caught on and gave me a confused look as I meet her look and smile.

    “You okay?” She asks.

“Yeah, I’m perfect.” I reply, still smiling at her. She returns this with a smile of her own, similar to the one she gave me earlier tonight. I love her smile.

Once we parked the car, I grabbed my bag and we continued to walk to her apartment door. It was more like a penthouse with a huge living room with a flat screen T.V., luxury bedroom equipped with a king size bed, a hot tub in the bathroom, and so much more. Once she opened the door and I saw how the other half lives I stood in amazement.

“Are you going to come in?” She asks with a chuckle as I noticed my mouth is slightly open and I’m standing in the doorway.

“This isn’t what I had in mind with you said apartment.” I say, gaining the strength to walk in. “This place is amazing.”

“Sometimes it’s good being the daughter of an aging rock star.” She says with a sly smile.
