The New Guy – (Chapter: Chapter Five)

I opened my eyes; Spencer’s arm was still around me. I rolled over facing him and smiled. He was so handsome. His sleeping face was flawless, so beautiful. I laid my head against his chest. His body was warm. I sighed looking at him. I couldn’t deny it, I like Spencer. More than a just as a friend and although it scared me I didn’t want to leave his arms. He had protected me from Addison and stayed with me when I was hurting. He was sweet, charming, and funny; he was perfect. I couldn’t understand how a guy could confuse me so much. How could a boy be so perfect? I’d always thought guys were just a roadblock, in the way of me getting to a girl. That they were self-centered jerks who only wanted one thing. But that wasn’t Spencer; he was loving and respectful to others. He was unlike anyone I’d ever met.

I felt Spencer stir pulling me away from my thoughts. I snuggled closer as he opened his eyes slowly, and then horror overtook them. He jumped up out of the bed. “Oh god Ashley I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to fall asleep,” he spit out in a rush. I smiled briefly at his nervousness. It was cute to see him like this.

“Spencer it’s okay really I’m glad you did.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Uhm are you sure?” I nodded. He sat back down on the edge of the bed. “Okay but I’m still sorry.”

“I’ll take that into account,” I said making him smile.

“How to you feel,” he asked.

I sat up slowly. “My head doesn’t hurt anymore so good I’m guessing.”

He nodded then looked around my room. “Uh can I use your bathroom? I kind of need a shower.”

It wasn’t until then that I noticed he was still in his uniform from yesterday. I must have hit my head harder than I thought. “Sure Spence the bathroom is over there,” I said pointing to the door leading to the bathroom. He got up and went to it closing the door after he was inside.

I watched the door for awhile until I finally heard the water come on. That’s when I realized that Spencer had nothing he could change into. I got up started searching for something for him. Eventually I found a pair of baggy cargo shorts and one of my dad’s old shirts. "This should work." I could still hear the shower going when I got back to my room. I knocked at the door but he didn’t answer. I knocked again still nothing. I bit my lip in thought. Should I go in? I mean he was in the shower I didn’t want to invade his privacy or anything. Then again he was in the shower it wasn’t like I was going to see anything of his. I chewed it over for a minute or two before finally just walking in, only to stop dead in my tracks after catching sight of something that shocked me to my very core.
