The New Guy – (Chapter: Chapter Six)

I chewed it over for a minute or two before finally just walking in, only to stop dead in my tracks after catching sight of something that shocked me to my very core.

In a split second everything seemed to make sense to me. The way he got upset over the report yesterday. How he was different from all the other guys. Why he was okay with me being gay. It all made sense.

    Spencer Carlin was a GIRL!

I stood there in shock not able to move or say anything. Spencer still hadn’t noticed me standing. I wanted to leave. I wanted to say something but nothing would come. I didn’t know what to feel. I was on the verge of tears. He’d lied to me, to everyone, but specially me. The person I was falling for was a lie.

There was a loud bang at my door. “Ashley mom said its time to get up,” I heard Kyla yell. That’s when Spencer looked up. The second he saw me horror slapped him in the face. He grabbed a towel quickly covering his body.

“Ash…” He whispered moving closer to me.

I stopped him with my hand. I felt tears building up in my eyes. I had to leave before I broke down. So I did. I gave him the clothes and left. I drove for hours until finally I stopped at the pier. I got out and walked to the very end leaning against it.

How could he do that to me? He knew what he was doing. He knew exactly what he was doing. He was making me fall for him. Correction he already made me fall for him.

“God Ashley how could you be so stupid?!” I yelled at sea.

    “I don’t think you’re stupid.”

I ground my teeth together when I heard his voice, or should I say her. I turned around facing her, crossing my arms. Her eyes were nothing but sadness. Good. I hoped she felt terrible. “What do you want,” I spat at her. More sadness filled her eyes.

She looked down at her feet, “I don’t know Ash, explain?”

“Explain what Spencer? That you’re a girl! That you’ve been lying to me since we met! To everybody!” When she didn’t say anything back I huffed angrily and pushed pass her.
