Until I Met You – (Chapter: New Beginning)

“Excuse me, sir?” I gently shook his shoulder and he slowly began to regain consciousness. “Sir, can you please tell me what happened here?”

I was getting anxious by the second as his eyes slowly opened, but I didn’t get the reaction I was hoping for. His eyes widened with fear and he started screaming at the top of his lungs, all the while struggling to get away from me. That’s when I saw it. There was blood everywhere; the once white snow was stained with dark red, its smell so alluring that it’s all I could focus on. The warm liquid beating through the man’s veins was all I could hear and it was as if all my senses had been hijacked and I’d do anything to satisfy them. And it’s then when I knew that satisfaction was blood.

“Please! I beg you! I’ll give you anything you want, just let me go!” The man sobbed out, but I wasn’t hearing any of it. My body was on fire and I couldn’t take it anymore. Before the man could get away I firmly took hold of his leg and threw him down to the ground without any effort. I then quickly straddled his waist, grabbed a fist full of hair and threw his head to the side revealing his neck. My teeth then painlessly ripped through my gums like daggers. Instinctively I sunk them deep into the delicate flesh of his neck and it all went dark after that.

When I regained control of my body I fell back on my hands and knelt before the mess and chaos I had created. I felt exactly how I did when I first woke up earlier. As sick as murdering an innocent man made me feel I couldn’t help but acknowledge the euphoria flooding through my veins. I had never felt so strong, awake, and alive. I wanted more. No I needed to get more blood. This time around fear didn’t seem to be an emotion I possessed, so I jumped up to my feet and was determined to get to the streets to claim my next blood source.

“Well, I see you were successful in your transition.” A deep masculine voice called from the shadows with what sounded like a tone of humor.
