Where The Lines Overlap
No one is as lucky as us
We’re not at the end but
But we already won
Oh no, no one
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
For the year and a half that we have been together I have never doubted our relationship; for we have always talked through our fights and never let a day go by that we are mad at one another. At first my friends did not accept me dating her; but they finally accepted our relationship. We may fight sometimes too, but it is more play fighting than anything; we always joke about it afterwards.
Now I’ve got a feeling if I sang this loud enough, you
Would sing it back to me
I’ve got a feeling if I sang this loud enough, you
Will sing it back to me
My phone rang; and I didn’t need to check the name to know it was her. To my surprise as I said hello she started singing the very song I was listening to. Beautifully her voice carried the words through my ear; making me smile bigger than I have ever smiled before. Through the memorizing moment tears filled my eyes out of the happiness that had filled my heart. Singing is her passion; what she is meant to be doing for the rest of her life and I am lucky to be able to hear her magnificent voice every day.
I’ve got a feeling
I’ve got a feeling
That you, will sing it back to me
You, will sing it back to me
Although I may not be able to sing as wonderfully as her; I join in and together our voices harmonize. I could never imagine a time without her; she has made me the happiest girl in this world. Therefore I believe we can make it through each day together. One day we will finally be in each other’s arms; safe and sound. Especially during times like these I wish we did not live so far; for if she was right next to me I would be able to kiss her soft lips and I would be able to hear her angelic voice as much as possible.
No one is as lucky as us
We’re not at the end but
But we already won
No no, no one
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
Is as lucky as us
“How’d you know I was listening to our song?” I whispered softly into the phone.
She chuckled before replying, “I didn’t; I was listening to it too.”
Moments like these made me absolutely sure we were perfect for each other. This wasn’t the first time she had called me singing the lyrics to the song I was listening to at the same moment and I hope it will not be the last.
“It doesn’t mean I’ll stop asking you, can you read my mind?” I said jokingly she laughed.
“Of course not Spence, I just happen to have good timing,” I nodded my head laughing even though she could not see.
“You really do Ash; you really do,” I sigh contently; and we remain in a peaceful silence.
“I love you Spencer,” She breaks the silence; it feels as if my heart just smiled.
“I love you too Ashley,” I reply.
“Only four more months Spence,” She murmurs I can tell she is smiling; making my heart beat faster.
“I know, soon we’ll finally be able to see each other,” I answer. Four months may seem long to some; to us the time we spend together flies by.
We continue talking about how our lives will change as soon as we are finally able to be together. How no one will be able to separate us. Talking about what we would accomplish as soon as I got there, how we would spend as much time as possible with one another. To many our relationship may seem unrealistic; but to us it is very much a reality and will be a promising future.
