A Different L: Episode 1 Part 3
Her office is her home. That is the life of Jessica Jones, operating a private investigation service out of her apartment in West Hollywood. Today, she has yet to leave her apartment to see the outside world, not even the Planet for her morning shot. Instead, her morning shot is a bottle of whiskey which is interrupted with a knock at the door. Calmly placing the bottle under her desk, she leans back in her chair and closes her eyes.
Jessica: It’s open!
The door opens and Jessica opens her eyes, looking over to see the man that has entered.
Jessica: Shit. What the hell are you doing here?
Oliver: My name is Oliver Queen and-
Jessica: I know who you are. What do you want?
Oliver closes the door and approaches the desk, seeing an aluminum folding chair.
Oliver: Of all the people I could think of, I figured you were the best one to talk to.
Jessica turns her chair around, facing Oliver with her hands together. Oliver can see the look of disinterest.
Jessica: About what?
Oliver: It’s about my girlfriend.
Jessica: Maybe you should talk to her then.
Oliver: I did. This morning, she was upset. It was about you.
Jessica: Oh for Christ’s sake…
Oliver: Look, I don’t know what happened and Felicity doesn’t want to talk about it and I know what it’s like to keep things to yourself. I’m not here to ask what happened, I just know whatever it was… it’s caused her to think she’s lost a friend. I didn’t realize how close the two of you were and… she’s shaken up about not having that friendship anymore.
Jessica: Friendship…
“He doesn’t know,” Jessica thinks to herself.
Oliver: I probably shouldn’t even be here, but-
Jessica: She didn’t send you over here did she…?
Oliver: No. I care about her a lot.
Jessica: Care about her…
Jessica only nods as she speaks the words.
Oliver: Yeah and I can’t afford for her to be out of it emotionally.
Jessica: You’re her boyfriend. You can afford for her to be sad. What you can’t afford is comin’ in here and talkin’ to me about this. I don’t wanna hear it.
Oliver stands from the chair and crosses his arms.
