‘Nope, she’s all yours. And she’s in a great mood. Cold mornings are her jam.’
Angie laughed. Penny nuzzled her hair. She laughed harder.
‘You want company?’ Bella asked.
‘Oh, yeah, that’d be great. Hey, what’s up with Rocco? I keep texting him and he’s replied to me, like, once.’
‘Yeah, he’s swamped. It’s crazy being a resident.’
‘Right.’
‘Go get a hat and I’ll get Nicky.’
Bella headed off, and ten minutes later the two were under way along the southern easement, a wide, sandy track that took in some of the very best views.
Angie couldn’t stop smiling. She was glad she was riding a little behind, because Bella would surely think her unhinged, she smiled so much. Actually, she wanted to laugh. She didn’t even completely know why, but something about this place, this morning, was so right it was absurd.

At a widening of the track, Bella slowed and they were able to ride comfortably abreast. Angie sat more upright. Pushed her heels down and clutched the reins low against the saddle, as she’d always been taught.
‘Y’okay there?’ asked Bella, with a smile.
‘Mhmm.’
A moment passed, then Bella spoke again.
‘It’s okay, you can ride looser.’
Angie opened her grip a little. The horse shook her head and let out a long, happy snort. Bella laughed.
‘There ya go!’

Bette lay on her back, her left arm above her head, her right hand tangled in Tina’s hair as she felt herself climb towards yet another orgasm. Wave after wave of desire washed over her skin, raising her nipples, raising the fine hairs on her belly. Tina’s tongue, soft and knowing, enveloped her, dizzying her senses, reminding her without ceremony that she belonged to another . . .
They’d gone back to the party different people. United, properly. The greenhouse had literally cleared the air and they were radiant as they moved among the throng, hand in hand, charming guests with their easy glamour. Shane, of course, of all people, noticed the change.
