    Chapter 31 & 32

    Chapter 31

     

    “Oh I love this song, come on Carmen dance with me, since we all know Shane doesn’t dance” Alice said as she grabbed Carmen’s hand

     

    “I’ll be right back babe” Carmen kissed Shane on the cheek

     

    “Tina, dance with me?” Helena asked

     

    “Ok” Tina smiled

     

    Bette who had been relatively quiet, after her return from the restroom felt her head was about to explode as she saw Helena and Tina walk away hand in hand.

     

    Kit who was too busy talking to Peggy failed to see the look of angst on her baby sister’s face.

     

    Shane and Bette were left sitting there in awkward silence.

     

     

    “So how long have you known Tina?” Bette asked

     

    “A very long time” Shane’s answer was short.

     

    Bette got up and walked to the balcony rail, she instantly looked around trying to find Helena and Tina, Shane saw Bette’s shoulders slump and she saw the look of sadness in Bette’s eyes.

     

    Shane rolled her eyes and got up as she joined Bette along the rail she placed her elbows on the rail as she looked down on the sea of dancing people, she followed the path of Bette’s stare and saw Helena and Tina dancing close, Helena’s hand s on Tina’s Hips as they swayed to the sound of the music.

     

    Shane thought about what to say to Bette and after some awkward silence spoke.

     

    “I thought you would be good for Tina, when she told me about you I figured you to be honest, hard working, proud, and most importantly you held on to your convictions and beliefs no matter what anyone said.”

     

    Shane paused

     

    Bette gave Shane a sideways look.

     

    “Those are a lot of the traits Tina posses, you don’t fall as low as she did and rise to level she has by not being all those things, but now, with that confrontation between you and Tina in the bathroom. I don’t think your any of those things, you sound like a little brat who is used to doing what she wants when she wants, you really don’t know her at all if you think she is at motivated by money and status, as a matter of fact I’ll go as far as to say you don’t deserve her love.”

    14. So glad they have made up but, there is still much work to do to get back to where they were. Now they will have the time to do just that. Glad Bette got over herself and cut in on helena’s dance with Tina. Thanks for posting.
