3 Tina
’I’m leaving!’ Bette’s voice carried through the space. She glanced my way, ’I will see you when I come back right?’ she asked lazily swinging her legs.
I poured the popcorn into a bowl and sprinkled a pinch of salt over it. I offered her the bowl that was still warm in my hands. ’I’ll be here.’
She popped a few popcorn in mouth and licked the salt from her lips. ’Mmm, so good.’ She jumped down from the counter.
’Tina, you have to tell your wife to leave already. I want to watch a movie.’ Renee said as I handed her a bowl of popcorn.
A playful, smile lingered on my lips as I turned to Bette, who trailed closely in my wake. ’You heard her,’ I teased, mockingly stern.
’You know I never listen.’ She whispered back before shifting her attention to the large TV against the wall. ’Netflix or old fashioned?’
’Here.’ I said taking the USB stick from my pocket. I asked one of my colleagues to put the rough cuts together and make it look like something, so Renee could at least see the beginning of the series I was working on.
Bette connected it to the TV and dimmed the lights. As the first scene on the beach of Normandy started Bette sat down on the arm rest next to me.
Renee eagerly raised herself a little bit up. ’I didn’t watch this movie.’
’You did this.’ Bette whispered not taking her eyes off the screen.
’You should go. The dinner is about to start.’ I whispered back.
’I know.’ Her voice trailed off and her hand slowly searched for mine. The warmth of her hand was a tender invitation. As I gradually let my fingers weave through hers, my heart skipped a beat. ’Just a few more minutes.’ she added, but she never left.
3.6 Tina
Our breaths gradually returned to a calm rhythm, the echoes of our shared orgasm still lingered in the air. Beside me, Bette nestled against my body, our limbs intertwined as if gravity itself sought to pull us closer. She rested her head upon my chest, her hair cascading over my shoulder like a silken waterfall. As I gazed at her, the soft glow of the moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle, light upon her. I could almost sense the pull of slumber tugging at her. I willed myself to stay perfectly still, my every movement restrained, my breath caught in my chest, a delicate thread of hope woven into the fabric of the night.

Good thing that Tina finally voiced what she needed: Bette at home in their appartement. Tina off of work for a while should give them some time to talk. If Bette gets some free time as well – without being fired.
Thanks for posting!
Beautiful written rewrite, the details of everything, the insights of what Tina is thinking and feeling and she finally voiced what she needed, and that was for Bette to come home.
Truly devastating if you loose your child and even more devastating if you close of your pain, trying desperately to move on. Plagued by nightmares of that night you loose your daughter. Feeling guilty because you were not able to give your wife the daughter you so wanted. Both of them feel guilty, they need to talk about it, share there feelings, their grieve instead of trying to hide it.
Bette coming home is a good start.
Look forward to read the next chapter!
