Bette and Tina have gotten into the swing of being a bi-coastal family. Enduring their separate days and lives, but making sure to touch base each night and sometimes during the work day too. Bette has made a point to continue doing many of the things she brought back into her life when she initially moved to New York: gym time, cultural events and socializing at Club events. Tina is juggling the rigors of being a single parent with demands of her career. Even with the support of family she struggles to find time to herself. Her big personal outlet is the time she spends talking with Bette in the evening. She finds they have more intimate discussions over the phone as opposed to the webcam. Often she’ll use the webcam with Angelica, but plan to call Bette later so they can really talk. This is one of those nights. It was Friday night so staying up late isn’t a big deal for either woman.
Bette: Hey baby, glad you called back.
Tina: I finally have some information on the adoption. I spoke to my attorney Tom and also to Helena. Both seem to think we should pursue the second parent adoption in New York. Helena’s experience was good and she’s even recommends her attorney there. Tom has drawn up a power of attorney giving you rights to make any major medical, life or legal decisions about the baby. Once we both agree to the language in the document we just need to sign it in front of a notary then file with the county clerk in Manhattan. That will give you some legal standing while we go through the adoption process. Since we used Marcus’ sperm we’ll need to present the document he signed giving up any parental rights to Angelica. They shouldn’t seek him out, but it could happen in the adoption process.
Bette: Thank you Tina, this means so much to me. Finally I feel like we are moving forward to being a complete family. I definitely want to do the Power of Attorney as soon as possible.
Tina: Tom has already emailed us a copy of the document. Read it this weekend we’ll be able to sign it next month when I get back there.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO shorter chapters are notdoing me any good. It is only 10 pages oth post together when you use to give us a chapter of20 pages :-( pmsl.ok back to my Easter gift lmao, would Bette be able to let it go? “I never believed you’d walk away from me before. I believed we were forever. You walked away from me twice. The second time I felt I had no choice but to let you go and be happy.” I know she has been badly hurt. But Tina is making amand already. Every time she is saying that it’s like 3 steps back from their one step up. However I can see a big improvement in their relationship and the being a family. I feel for the other members of the family in LA. Can’t wait to see Bette face in the morning when Tina comes lol. My heart is swolling of love, joy and happyness for this familly. PPVS
Well, these two have been having some amazing conversations. No way after these discussions will those two not be able to communictae again. I love the fact that Tina thought of Bette first…it was certainly a grand gesture, but more importantly it was an act of love. What a wonderful chapter Lwsho…you are truly out doing yourself!
