A Choice Is Made Chapter 68

Bette: Do you really want to go in here?

    Tina: I really do.

They head inside and are blown away by the size of the store and mob inside the store. Tina leads them to the Boutique where they dress and do little girls hair to look like princesses. Bette watches Tina and knows there will be a stop here in Angelica’s future. They do find a cute t shirt for Sam and Bette leaves Tina to pay for that while she heads over to Basin, the skin care store. They both go overboard here. Final stop is TrenD, a coutre boutique. Tina finds a really cute shirt while Bette resists the urge to buy more Disney merchandise.

Bette: Are you ready to head back?

Tina: Just one more stop. Goofy’s candy shop.

They load up on some sweet treats for the trip home. Angelica has fallen asleep and they head out to get a bus back to their hotel.

Tina: Do you still want to look in the gift shop?

Bette: No, I’ve had enough shopping let’s grab an ice cream and sit by the pool with the baby. We’ll be getting on the bus soon.

They each enjoy a Mickey bar or ice cream sandwich and lament their return to New York. Angelica awakes from her nap in time to help her mothers finish off their treats. Tina takes Angelica to the restroom for a change while Bette retrieves their carry-on bags. Bette repacks their bags to account for today’s purchases and they are ready to head to the Magical Express bus back to the airport.

Bette: You planned on buying a lot today, didn’t you? Funny how much room is in this bag.

Tina: Yea, we’ll need to check that one at the airport. I don’t think they’ll let us bring those creams from Basin through security.

Bette: That’s fine, one less thing to drag through the airport.

Tina: Yea, but I hate paying the $15 fee.

Bette: Yea, that is a crock of crap, but we really don’t have much choice.

Tina: Hey, they have a Photopass photographer here in the lobby. Let’s get a family photo in our matching t shirts here before we go.

They take a few poses, thank the photographer and head to the bus. They watch the video and Angelica gets excited as she recognizes places, rides or characters on the screen.

Bette: Maybe we should have taken a Disney Vacation Club tour?

Tina: You’d actually consider buying a timeshare?

Bette: Well our suite was part of the timeshare part of Disney. I really liked having the bedroom and access to a kitchen. Even though we were on vacation I felt at home.

Tina: You’d want to come back to Disney for vacation again and again?

Bette: Well I don’t think Angelica would mind that. They also have a place at the beach further south in Florida and in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Tina: Wow, you’ve been thinking about this?

Bette: I picked up the brochure while you were shopping. I also overheard part of the salesperson’s pitch. It might make sense to sort of pre buy or prepay for a week or two of vacation a year for our family. We were both really pleased with the level of service and the amenities at both Disneyland and Disney World.

Tina: Yea, I really loved the Kidani pool area for the baby. I tell you what let’s look at several time share options and see if they makes sense for us.

Bette: I’ll send Katherine, our new financial advisor a general question about timeshares.

Tina: Now that idea I really like.

They arrive at the airport and are able to head directly to security as they’d checked in through Disney.

Bette: Take the baby through security. I’ll check this bag and meet you on the other side.

    Tina: OK baby.

    Julio: Ms. Bette!

The families reunite and share stories about the rest of their trips. All of the kids end up falling asleep on the flight. Bette hadn’t ever been so grateful for Peggy and Gerarado than when we met them in baggage claim. Bette took Angelica to the car while Tina went to retrieve their checked bags. He brought them out and loaded everything in to the trunk. The ride home was quiet and the entire family heads straight to bed.
