Chapter 47
A few hours later she’s out of the plane and on her way to Chris and Lauren’s house. She got a cab and gave him the address. 20 minutes later she arrived. She grabbed the bags and placed them on the front porch. She rings the door bell. After a few moments Lauren opens the door. Bette gives her a hug.
“Hi, how is she?” Bette asks right away.
“She’s been crying a lot. It might be harder on her, consider the history.” Lauren says.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought too.” Bette replies and smiles a little. “Where is she?” Bette asks, breaking from the hug.
“She’s out with Sarah on the porch. Chris is over at the house with Jack.” Lauren replies.
“Okay, thanks. I” Bette says and points to the porch.
“Yeah, you go to her.” Lauren says.
Bette walks over to the door just as Tina walk inside.
“Bette?” Tina says surprised.
“Hi.” Bette says and gives her a little smile.
“What are you doing here?” Tina asks a little angry.
Bette walks up to Tina.
“I couldn’t play now, if I wanted to. I want to be here with you.” Bette says.
“I told you I wanted to do this alone.” Tina says, turning a little angry.
“Baby, please, I should be here with you.” Bette says reaching out to Tina’s shoulder.
“No, please leave, justplease.” Tina says, tears are starting to form, she looks right into Bette’s eyes. Bette didn’t recognize Tina’s face. Suddenly it turned so cold, so emotionless. One single tear escape Bette’s eyes.
“Tina” Bette pleads.
Tina turns and walks down the hallway and into the bathroom. She closes the door.
Bette takes her hand up to her face. ‘What happened here?’ She thinks to herself. Lauren walks up to her from behind and places her hand on her shoulder.
“I’m sorry.” She says.
“Yeah, I’m gonna go. Tell her that I’ll stay at the same hotel we stayed at the last time we were here, okay?” Bette says.
“Off course Are you okay?” She asks.
“Yes, I’m fine, I should go. I have one of Tina’s bag outside. Could you give it to her?” Bette asks.
“Yes, I’ll walk you out.” Lauren says.
They walk outside and Bette gives Lauren the bag.

i just comment in Flair chapter and you give that other great chapter?..your chapter saved mine others fans day..i am so glad they make it up without so much Drama but Tina have to think better before say something wrong to Bette it is the second time she hurts Bettes feeling.. once was when she said “no i cant” to Bette and now this…dont let her do that again..Bette loves her more than everything she should know that by now…lol.i love your story totally addicted :o)
Interesting chapter, maybe Tina was still in shock as well as being scared. I am glad that Bette didn’t let Tina’s actions hurt her too badly. Tina now has the one person she needs to lean on while she is weak and in need of support. Kudo’s to ,her sister-in -law for laying into a little bit. She needed it.

great chapter. gald to see bette not getting mad at tina for asking her to leave. bette loves tina so much and will do anything for her. cant wait for bette to meet tina’s dad.
Wow, what a treat! It’s so good to get these extra posts so soon. Keep it up!!! It’s good to see the ladies learning to lean on each other. That they don’t let misunderstandings flare up into bigger problems. Guess that’s what the year of getting to know more about each other is all about. Hope they can always work thru their problems with minimal heartaches.
I acn somewhat understand Tina’s reaction to seeing Bette. Maybe in the back of her mind, the pain of loosing her mom is almost to painful to bear without the additional pain of having her father rejecting the love of her life. Maybe she just couldn’t take the additional pain. JMHO
Yeah you scare me about Tina kick Bette out but glad she and Bette talk about it and now they will go through with it together, love it. Post soon, thanks!

Please forgive me all the missed comments, but you posted your last chapters very quickly and I had a very busy time – and a sick one too, alas. So, I’m pretty late about everything currently !
Now, let me review all these last chapters…
ch.43 :
I like a lot this line from Tina : “I don’t like labels. I fell in love with the person, and she happened to be a woman, so if that makes me gay, then I am.” So great ! I think the same way and god, how wonderful it would be if everybody were able to agree with that one day… Is it sooo difficult to understand ? By the way, you didn’t let us see Stephanie’s reaction here… I wonder how she took that and if it will change her point of view about Tina…
Awwww… always such a tender way to depict our dear B&T’s love… The airport scene was a pure delight, I must say ! I love to feel melting this way… thanks ! You just spoil my big romantic heart, as usually with this so lovely story !
God, how I deeply relate to Jessie about turbulences !! I hate planes and I’m quite terrified with turbulences too… Awful !!
Well, what I felt last time was right : Tina’s maternal cares are obvious here, since she even forgot her own fear about flying, for the good of her fragile protégée…
ch.44 :
No doubt Jessie is a lovely young girl, but I also suspect something serious about the foster father too… I pretty think this poor Jessie hasn’t tell everything… And, after all, we don’t know a lot about Stephanie neither, hmm ? Ok, I’m perhaps a bit paranoic here ! However…
Tina is a natural caring little mommy here. If there would be published an ad for being adopted by her, god, it will have such a rush on the entry form !! (lol)
ch.45-46 :
You perfectly depicted true emotions in this so sad chapters, Lauren, that was written with delicacy and in a very realistic way too…
I’m very upset for Tina now, because I don’t think his stoneheart father will beheave better with his daughter… So, even if I fully understand why Tina was afraid to put Bette in such a tough and embarrassing situation, I think she’s wrong because if there’s ever be a moment she would need her beloved’ support, it’s now. She also isn’t as strong as she think to be to face all this pain alone.
So, thanks a lot to Lara for advising Bette to obey to her heart’s willing ! No wonder I always liked Lara’s warm and engaging character so much… (yes, sorry Alice but I’m from the ones who cross their fingers for her come back in Dana’s life !)
It would have been too hard to bear for Bette, playing a tournament she didn’t care about anymore and feeling both worried and guilty far of Tina…
This unexpected and dramatic event, however, will certainly be Jessie’s chance to increase her self-confidence, having to prove her ability as a photographer – and so her ability to take care about herself too. Luckily, she’ll have Lara with her.
And yes, I agree : thanks god Tina had the opportunity to talk with her mother before it was too late, to see how truly regretful she felt and finally to forgive her. Even if she’s currently too shocked to realize that, no doubt it will be a very comforting thought later.
ch.47 :
My god, Lauren ! Just when I finished to write my long comment, bing, you already posted this new chapter !! How generous of you… but too bad for me, being such a slow turtle !
Well, here’s my added comment for this current chapter :
Of course I understand how deeply hurted felt Bette in front of Tina’s sudden cold face and angry reaction. But I’m happy to see she quickly forgave her, because obviously Tina was under a very strong emotional shock and, above all, under the effects of mixed feelings she’s perhaps even really conscious about : behind the sorrow, there the so painful come back of the most moving and ugly part of her life in her heart and mind… She’s not only broken by her mother’s death, for me, but also by an incredible amount of old scars she never really was able to bear. That’s why she acted with a kind of panic the first time Bette asked her to marry her and that’s why she acted the same way now : there’s a huge emotional fragility in her for years and she will be fully deliver of all these hidden fears and insecurities only the day she’ll realize how much Bette is the one to support everyting with her and to take care of her, always.
That’s why she needed a bit of drama, in a way, to the slow pursuit of this full realization.
I also think she was perhaps afraid to think Bette could be humiliated by her father, in a way, and she desperately tried to avoid this test for her.
But we already know how much Daddy will find his match with our Bette ready to be Tina’s protecting Silver Knight ! I don’t advise him to be too rude or he will regret it ! (lol)
By the way, the “other Lauren” (lol) is the sister-in-law everybody would dream to have !

Well, you know, there’s something great about having mess few chapters : this way I had the great pleasure of an uninterrupted reading ! And it’s also a way to realize how perfectly mastered is your story’s race. Bravo Lauren, and thank you so much for this story !! You know how much I loved it from the very beginning.

Geez, Lauren! I thought I was at the amusement park for a sec! I mean, I was all nervous, and then really excited, and then I got worried and a little scared, then my heart felt like it was going to explode, and then it was in my throat! Hell, I even felt a little queasy too! And then, I was really excited again! That was one big ass rollercoaster ride! Thanks!
Glad Bette was strong enough and stayed in town for Tina to get to her senses…great update Lauren..keep it up

Lauren..at first I wasn’t sure what the hell happened. Tina asking Bette to leave…dang…that was hard. But I’m glad they talked thing over. I can’t wait to meet Tina’s dad…
