(Dylan in her apartment)
Helena’s coming. She will be here soon as soon as she can and I know I will be able to deal with all this as long as she’s with me. I have every piece of information Peggy had in the envelope spread out across my coffee table. I put them in chronological order and begin to study each one again. First is the copy of my birth certificate.
Everything I already know. Mother’s name: Karen E. Jacobs. Father’s name: blank. Date of Birth: 5/9/1968. City and State: Providence, Rhode Island. My birth name: Dylan Marie Jacobs.
Next is the picture of my mother and me on my birthday. I start to smile again at how happy we seem, but stop myself. No, I need to figure this out. The dreams I’m having are so vivid, but I don’t know if I can believe them. I was sure she left me. She never came back and I was so sure it was because she didn’t want to come back. She didn’t want me. But now, with all this information I know she couldn’t come back.
As hard as this is, I know I need to keep going. I force myself to look at the next pieces of the puzzle, the photocopies of newspaper articles. There are three of them, each one with a handwritten date next to the title. I could only manage to read the first two before now. My emotions, sadness and hate, always overtook me. I’m going to read each one of them including the last this time. I have to, if I’m ever going to be able to get past this.
The first with a scribbled date next to it that reads 7/12/76.
BODY OF WOMAN FOUND IN MAIN STREET APARTMENTS:
The body of a as of yet unidentified woman was found in the Main Street Apartments yesterday at approximately 6:30 pm. Police say dispatch received a call from an anonymous source reporting hearing a woman scream and then two gun shots coming from one of the apartments. As police investigated the call they came upon the dead body of a woman in one of the apartments. She had suffered two fatal gunshot wounds. Police are saying that at this time they believe her death may have been the result of a burglary gone terribly wrong, but can not be certain until further investigation. As of yet police have no witnesses to the crime or suspects. Police are urging anyone with possible information to contact them at…..”

Great update. You misunderstand me, I was not advocating physical violence towards Alice but a verbal shelacking of the worst kind she might have ever received in her stupid life. One can be given a verbal smackdown that would far outweigh any physical pain. A friend told me once that I had a scathing little mouth and would never need to physically hit anyone, my mouth would do the job. It’s all in the stare, body language, and the words you choose. I’m sure Peggy felt vindicated in slapping the hell out of alice but knew she did not need to hit her again. Actually, I’m surprised that she did hit her. As we know Peggy can take care of any foe just by calling them out and speaking her thoughts. Maybe this will teach alice a lesson that she never forgets. When you are trying to help someone, you simply have to know when to not overstep your bounds and when to shut the hell up. Great update. Thanks for posting.

As if you left me this way???? What’s happening to Dylan??? At least Helena is there to rescue her and get her to safety. As for Alice she got her comeuppence. She got lost along the way of where to separate the feeling of being concerned and wanting to get what she wanted. I’m struggling abit with chapter 4. But I’m getting there :/ can’t wait for the next update!
