She looked down at her plate and was thinking of the luckiness of Tina having accepted her back, as she looked up she noticed Tina smiling at her.

“What’s wrong Beka?”

Rebekah decided to ‘bite the bullet’ as they say and just jump in all fear aside and tell Tina about the phone call.  “Tina, when you walked into the pool house and I was on the phone earlier.”

“Yeah.”

“Well, I was on the phone with Bryan.”

“Bryan, our brother Bryan?”

“Yeah, and I was afraid of him hearing you.”

“Why, Beka it’s not like he could hurt you, worst he could do is not talk to you and cut you off which is what you thought he had already done.”

“Well, yeah but… it all goes back to when you left.  I was there that day, remember but what you may not know is that I heard you and Mom and Dad talking.  I was hurt, so hurt when I had realized that you were gone, really gone, forever gone.  So I called Bryan and told him what had happened.  He was so angry, he hung up on me and called Mom and Dad and yelled at Dad for at least an hour.  I don’t know what they said but I think in the end Bryan just let it go and was angry at you.  I just didn’t know if I could handle dealing with all those emotions now especially after everything that has happened recently.  It’s too close to home with me now.”

Tina really didn’t know how to respond to that, she didn’t know that Bryan had been so angry at her.  She had figured her siblings had just all gone along with their father’s declaration of no contact with Tina.  “Beka, you should really talk to him, he should know where you are and that you are safe.  You and Bryan were always the closest and I am sure he is concerned about you.”

“No Tina, don’t you get it.  You and I were the closest and that’s what makes this all so complicated.  Bryan’s liable to react badly knowing that I am with you.”

“If he does, he does; you only have control over yourself and no one else.”
