    Tina gets an awakening, Bette gets sick.

    Chapter 6

     

    By six oclock, Tina was exhausted. It amazed her the way Kristen and the boys seemed to have boundless amounts of energy. They decided that the all you can eat seafood restaurant would be the only thing that filled the boys seemingly bottomless stomachs. Kristen wanted to continue the conversation, but stilled try to keep the boys in the dark.

    Codes were the only way.

     

    Kristen: So, when do you think you will have some hot chocolate again? Kristen asked with a smile as she dug into her shrimp.

     

    Tina: Uh, I dont know. Maybe the hot chocolate will call when it wants a little marshmallow in it. Tina cheered herself for her own cleverness.

     

    Kristen: Maybe the marshmallow should go looking for the hot chocolate. It would save some time. And make things a lot easier for the marshmallow to get eaten. Kristen then laughed at her own deviltry.

     

    Tina: You are so sick. I think the marshmallow should just lay low and wait for the hot chocolate to just call her.

     

    Jamie: Hot chocolate never calls me. I want some.

     

    Jason: Doofus, they arent talking about real hot chocolate. They are talking about the lady that Tina is going out with. Jason said with authority as he pushed a handful of fried clams into his mouth.

     

    Kristen and Tina were speechless. What they thought had been clever dialogue, now appeared idiotic in the eyes of 8-year old superiority.

     

    Jamie: Thats wrong maybe Tina just wants some hot chocolate. Anyways she cant date a girl. Thats just weird.

     

    Jason: No it is not. It just means shes like Mikeys two moms. Are you gonna marry her, your hot chocolate lady? Jason asked Tina pointedly.

     

    Tina: Umm, I dont know. Would that be a problem, Jason? Tina asked. Now very tickled by the conversation.

     

    Jason: Only if you do it in a church. Cause they dont like that.

     

    Jamie: Yeah, they are mean like that. But, I dont think she should. Cause girls are icky.

     

    Kristen: Where did you guys learn this stuff? Kristen asked amazed at the knowledge of her children.

     

    Jason: TV. Jason succinctly said.

    9. Very nice pacing to this series. All of the chapters flow quite nicely. The revelation of Kristen’s kids was just priceless, leave it to kids to know more than you think they do. I liked the visual that I got of Cafe Du Monde, very appealing. Their chemistry is sweet, shy, alluring and elecric all at the same time. Please continue.
