    Author Notes:

    Bette is sick and Tina nurses her.

     

    Tina: “Yes Grandma. Thank you for talking me thru this. I don’t know how I would have gotten this done without you.”

     

    Grandma: “Oh, you would have done fine. I’ll let you go then. I love you honey.”

     

    Tina: “I love you too, Grandma.” Tina said and hung up her phone. She checked on her pie one more time, and decided that it was ready. “You look ready.” She said to herself. While still looking at the pie, she reached for the oven mitten. Tina was surprised to find a hand where she had left the oven. She then looked up and jumped a foot when she saw Bette standing there.

     

    Tina: “Oh my Gosh, you scared me.” Tina said as she held a hand to her heart. She then gave a nervous laugh as she tried to calm her breathing her breathing.

     

    Bette: “I’m sorry, I just got up and followed the scent. What are you making Tina?” Bette asked and leaned up against the nearest wall.

     

    Tina: “Oh, uh, Chicken Noodle soup and an apple pie.” Tina said as she pushed back hair out of her face.

     

     Bette: “Wow. That’s impressive. You didn’t have to do that.”

     

    Tina: “I don’t know if I would describe it as impressive since I had to call my Grandmother and have her walk me through it step by step. I just thought it would make you feel better. I figured you hadn’t eaten since the evil oyster had taken over you.” Tina said with a laugh.

     

    Bette: “No, I haven’t, and to be honest, I am a bit hungry.”

     

    Tina: “Just like I thought. So sit down, and I’ll get you a bowl.”

     

    Bette then moved slowly towards Tina. She turned Tina to face her and gave her a hug.

    Bette: “Thank you.” She said as she held Tina tightly. She pulled back and ran her hands up Tina’s arms to her face. She looked at her for a long moment, and leaned down to her mouth. Bette kissed her softly, and held her lips for a second. When Bette pulled back, though the kiss was gentle and non aggressive, it still left Tina visibly flustered. In Bette’s mind, it gave her a certain sense of satisfaction to see Tina so obviously bothered.

    15. Thank you, this is a refreshing new begining story of Bette and Tina. So many times writers seem to ignore the fact that Tina had a life before she met Bette (This probably stems from watching the show, because the writes of TLW have the same problem.). I am glad that you have included Kristen, one of Tina’s friends and I hope that she remains as part of your storyline. I also like Mac, he has more substance that any of the Eric”s that I have read. Don’t get me wrong, Bette is my favorite character of the show, but I think that the show needs to be more well rounded. Please continue.
