A Single Mom Meets Someone New! Ch 67

     Chapter 67

“I know you’ll stand by your promise.” Granny said.

    “Yes Ma’am.” Gillian said.

“Leo called this morning apparently Tina and Skylar are on their way here.” Granny said.

“I figured it wouldn’t take them long to find me.” Gillian said.

“What are you going to do when they get here?” She asked.

“This isn’t about Skylar not really. Well its part of it. It’s mainly about Mom. She’s perfectly fine with me pretending to do adult things, but when it comes to actually growing up for real she isn’t willing to let me go. I can’t stand it anymore. I’m almost 17 and I’ve never been in trouble nor do I plan on doing anything in the future to get myself in trouble. She says she trusts me to make my own decisions but when I make one she flips out and says no.” Gillian said.

“Maybe you should listen to what she has to say.” Granny said.

“That’s just it. I always ask for her advice on something before I do it and most of the time we agree about what to do, but when we don’t she overreacts, says no, and then most of the time I get grounded if she even has a gut feeling that I did or might have done it. It’s not fair.” Gillian said.

“No it’s not, but life’s not fair and you can’t always run away from your problems.” She said.

“I know that. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I felt like if I didn’t do something she’d never let me go.” Gillian said.

“I know you feel strongly about this. Have you told Tina how you felt?” Granny asked.

“No. I guess I should have, but she would have said it was only because of Skylar and its not.” Gillian said.

    *******

“Bette, do you really think we made the right decision to come any way after they said this was something they had to do themselves?” Helena asked.

“I do. We both know how they can get when they get going. There has to be a third party to help negotiate.” Bette said taking the glass from the flight attendant.

    1. I have a feeling whatever Granny is up to is by far more upsetting than the Skylar situation. I truly hope that Gillian’s split decision won’t drive the family apart.

    2. Dang, what did Gillian’s grandmother make her promise to do for her help? I hope that it will work out for Gillian and for Tina. Most mothers are like that. They treat their children like children until they need them to be adults. Heck some still treat them as children years after they have become adults.

    3. What is the Grandmother up to? Is she going to give Gillian her fortune before she leaves this world or put her in charge of something large that she has to test her on to see if she can handle it? This is getting more interesting as the story goes on. PPS

    4. Oh boy what is granny up to now? but she is right tha gillian can’t rkeep running away everytime she doesn’t get way! all this drama cuz gillian and tina can’t sit and talk! :)
