A Single Mom Meets Someone New Ch 92

Gillian pulled down an empty tree lined street. She parked in front of Tina and Bette’s new house. She had only been there a couple of times since she had moved back to LA. It was late she figured the kids would be asleep at least that’s what she hoped. Gillian made her way up to the front porch and knocked. It took a minute before Bette came to the door in her PJ’s.

“Gillian are you okay?” She asked quickly.

“Yeah I’m fine. Is mom here?” Gillian asked.

“Yeah come in.” Bette watched Gillian walk past and stand in the living room as she were a guest and then she realized that’s how Gillian must feel. “You didn’t have to knock. This is your home too.”

    “I know.” Gillian lied.

“Babe who’s at the door?” Tina asked as she walked down the hall.

“It’s for you.” Bette said. Tina rounded the corner.

“Gillian what are you doing here? Are you okay?” She asked.

“I’m fine. I know it’s late but… umm… Can I talk to you for a minute?” Gillian asked. Tina was shocked. “If it’s too late I can call you tomorrow.”

“No no it’s not to late. We can talk anytime you want to.” Tina said.

“I’m going to bed. Gillian I love but I’m exhausted. I’ve got a lot of papers to look over tomorrow.” Bette hugged and kissed Gillian on the forehead like she used to and Tina and Gillian alone.

There was a long pause of silence. Tina knew Gillian was second guessing herself about coming to see her.

“I’m going to make some tea, Do you want some?” Tina asked.

“umm. Sure.” Gillian said still standing in the same place Bette left her.

Tina walked into the kitchen and put the kettle on. She pulled out two mugs and sat them on the counter.

“Is wild berry okay?” Tina asked. Gillian had followed her and was leaning against the door way of the kitchen.

“Yeah that’s fine.” Gillian shoved her hands in her pockets. Tina placed a tea bag in each cup.
