    Can Bette’s day get any worse?!

    Dana glared at Alice, desperately trying to think of something witty and cutting to come back at her withOh whats the use? Thought Dana, I will only end up messing up the punch line, and give her even more ammunition!

    Just then Dana looked up from her friends and noticed Bette coming through the main doors, weighted down with shopping bags.

    Hey Bette Dana shouted across the room, relieved that she now had a distraction to the endless ribbing she knew she was about to endure at the hands of her best friend.

    Bette trudged over to her friends slowly, with a look of resignation on her face. Typical, she thought. The one time I dont want to meet my friends in here. Oh well, here goes nothing. Bette shifted the bags in her hand, subtly moving them so that the logos were turned inwards. Bette reached the table and sat down wearily, carefully putting her purchases by her feet, well out of the way of prying eyes.

    Hey guys Said Bette.

    Hey you Replied Shain with an easy smile

    Hi Porter replied Alice, Youll never believe what you just missed

    Danas eyes grew wide as she realised that Alice was about to regale Bette with her tale of Danas latest disasterShit, *****, *****, she thought, OK Distraction, thats what I need a distraction. Dana stretched her legs out as she desperately thought of something, anything, to take the subject away from her Projectile Coffee incident. Just then her right leg came into contact with one of Bettes shopping bags. THATS IT she thought, Shopping, I cant go wrong with shopping now can I?

    Been shopping? Dana asked Bette in a panicked high pitched loud voice. Bette took her eyes off Alice, and swung her head round to stare menacingly at Dana.

    No replied Bette sharply, Why?

    well, Dana said nervously looking at Alice for inspiration, My best friend is an investigative reporter and Ive inherited her bloody nose!

    Shain and Alice spluttered with mirth, whilst Bette maintained her dont go there stare which was now accompanied with a furrowed brow of confusion.

    And, and, um, Well you do have shopping bags round your feet Dana trailed off lamely.

    3. So I see you are making fun of my tina/artist? I love your alice in this story, and dana had me rolling on the floor. I hope the zip lock bags are to put her supplies in and not What I think there for. I have to say I have a torch and it’s the best thing every. I use it for everything. LOL
