After loving you – c 13
After loving you chapter 13 .. The day after reflection FM: Bette Porter TO: Tina Kennard RE: the future Can we talk tonight at Bette ——————————————————- FM: Tina Kennard TO: Bette Porter RE: the future Tonight is fine. I’ve made some decisions, too. Tina ——————————————————- ********************************** About two months after the emails – Bette’s condominium in the a.m. Bette woke up and looked happily at her lover as she still slept. The dark hair, the creamy skin were breathtaking to her “Hi, sweetheart. Why the big smile?” Leigh asked, knowing the answer. “Hi, baby,” Bette answered softly. “Just enjoying the landscape.” “Hmmm,” Leigh murmured, her twinkling eyes becoming serious. “I love you,” she added. “Me, too. I love you,” said Bette. She pushed up on an elbow and waited for Bette to shift her body so she could reach for her. Then she lay against Bette’s shoulder and put her arm across Bette’s waist. She smiled contentedly as Bette put her arm around her back. She snuggled more closely into Bette and Bette closed her eyes, reveling in the softness and warmth and curves of her body. Bette had missed thiswaking up in the arms of someone you loved. Someone who loved you in return. There was nothing like it. Bette also reveled in the return of her regular sex life. There was nothing like that, either. About two months after the emails – an office building in the a.m. “Hey, what are you doing here?” Tina stood up and the tall woman walking through the lobby stopped. “Tina! My gosh! What brings you here?” “I’m here for an appointment, but traffic was much lighter than I thought it would be, so I’m early.” “How about some coffee?” “Great idea,” responded Tina with genuine pleasure and they went to a coffee shop located in the lobby of the building. Bette’s condominium about 20 minutes later “I have to go to the gallery.” “Uhmmm,” muttered her girlfriend reluctantly.

Well Pancha, there you go girl. I guess it’s all over, huh? Great story, great ending, albeit terrifically sad. You wrote it exceptionally well, really. It’s hard, I imagine, to play it out on paper (so to speak) because it is so sad, and it is so final. I like the way you gave them reasons and I think those reasons made some sense. Much more background than just Tina’s inability to forgive — very fleshed out, very forgiving, as ironic as that reads. It’s always been a sad, sad notion to me that that possibility exists — that there isn’t forgiveness and/or that forgiveness alone is simply not enough. Either way, your story was well, well done and I hope to see another one soon!
no way….and how the hell THIS helps you to deal with s3? doesn’t helped me at all, only made me more depressed because s3 is leading us in the same f***ing direction…i only have one question to any of you: are you happy now because that ending didn’t make me happy? is your second name lastkid? No matter what the problems are and where the story goes, i always will believe that B&T have true love………..well, here goes my inspiration down the drain…deep depression is all i have left…(but i did predicted this end so i guess i read that chapter at my own risk)
sorry…i just read my own comment and it sounded too hursh…your writing is always beautiful…i’m just sad
If I could offer eloquent words of praise I would; mine are simple but heartfelt. This was so well-written that even the most besotted of B&T fans will find it a convincing – though enormously sad – end. I hope TPTB are not getting any ideas from you (at east not from this story).
i dont like this…good writting but well this better not happen in s3
I was right…That’s it!!
Happiness for both of them,Love will alway be there, Just they cant be together, Got to write another story,Who can I play baseball with. thanks so much for your time and awonderful but sad story
This was a great, albeit sad story that provided little hope to a different outcome. You wrote it fantastically and I hope it provided some therapy for what is to come. Now, pancha a.k.a. IC, I would like to hear from Bette and Tina exactly how their conversation went from each viewpoint. We don’t know what was said when Tina announced to Bette that she wanted to move back into their home and now we have to guess what they said when they decided to end it all…or maybe they are just separated and we will find they are back together five years from now. I’m sure ‘BetteAndTinaForever’ would love that as would most of us. Anyway, that’s my wish list. Cheers again to your great writing!! Love, T.
Okay, first things first… *BIG hugs for B&TF* Hun, I’m sitting here trying not to cry because I so saw this coming but a part of me wanted to be wrong. And now, on to my comments: I am a glutton for punishment, hence why I always looked forward to the next chapter of this story (which I just realized ended at 13…talk about unlucky for all us B&T fans lol). Okay time to come up with a new one. LOL j/k Feel free to take a break or whatever. I’d probably have to if I had written this. Did this have the IDEAL ending? Hell no! But it did have the CORRECT ending. I would have liked to have seen at least a snippet of their final talk though because I had the fleeting thought that maybe we were being punked bigtime and everything but the talk was a dream. At any rate, it was an interesting ride and I can’t wait for the newest attraction at PanchaWorld. Now all I need to do is see if I can think of any questions that aren’t plain stupid or have no real answer. heh
BUMMER!!! Thanks Pancha.
Sad but this was the ending that I expected, written very well pancha well done I for one liked it just wish you would continue the story. I will come back with questions tomorrow. Thank you.
You broke my heart, but this story did make sense. Beautiful writing. Question for both Bette and Tina: in the e-mails you both said that you’d made some decisions, care to share? Tina: if Bette had asked you for another chance, would you have given your relationship another shot?Question for Bette: how is your relationshop with Tina at this moment? Question for Tina: how’s your relationship with the girls (Alice, Shane, Dana)?
You have really toughed me up for the tradegy of S3. The Porter/Albeit thing was beautiful, but also heartbreaking. I think they leanred alot about themselves and I hope they are happy (especially Angelica)I still believe in B&T and I believe they will be reunited in the future. The rapper DMX once said: If you love something let it go. If it comes back to you it’s yours. If it doesn’t it never was.I believe in B&T’s love(even though they are fictional characters)Enough ranting….I am deeply depressed, but you hav wrote a wonder yet very sad story.
Ive decided to go into stalker mode… so pancha… if (Tina’s Age)=(Pancha’s Age) then how old is Tina?… heh.if (Bette’s Location)=L.A., then what is Pancha’s Location?Okay, now for B & T, what was the kicker during their last conversation that made both realize that it was time to let the other go?
after seven years it came to this, why could’nt they work it out.maybe theres help five years down the road.
this question is for tina .u no bette would walk on fire for you but i guess it wasnt enough why didnt u give her another chance she was trying, but it takes 2 to try.
Oh, Pancha. The sound of one hand clapping sounds exactly like my heart breaking. I never guessed from your title After The Loving that your fic on B&T will end THIS way. I realise now that after the loving, there’s another love somewhere else. I really loved your story, even if B&T didn’t live happily ever after. ‘Twas the journey, not the destination. I can brace myself now for S3. I hope you write some more B&T fics. Thank you. Cheers!
An undeniably sad ending, but it seems that they have each moved on well enough. I guess my only question would be what ‘decisions’ were discussed after the e-mails? What decision/compromise/solution did Bette and Tina agree on? And are they both happy 5 years later?
A sad but proper ending for this story Pancha. I too would like a glimpse into what was said that final night, but I think you kinda already told us there thoughts in the previous chapter. My questions: Is Bette still with Leigh? Do they have any children? Is Tina in a happy relationship too? Were Tina and Bette able to become friends? Thanks for a really fabulous story.
Brilliant writing! You go girl! With the way you set this all up, I am so glad they both moved on. Neither of them could grow in that relationship any longer. Now they are both heading into very positive futures with new people and so many new things to experience! Yay! Not that I don’t like the relationship they had together – but it had become a facade – yes? Sad but true. You create very three dimensional characters in your writing – I love it and can’t wait for your next endeavour! Thanks so much for writing this!!!
I don’t believe this is the end for B&T. The wine is yet to be decanted. It is one thing to love someone, it is entirely something different to be “in love with someone”. This question is for B&T. So, how did you find your way back to one another? Did you experience an understanding of yourselves while you were apart and what it means to have only one soul mate? I do not believe in lost love. What I believe is, love sometimes gets misplaced, if it is in fact, the purest of true love, it will never be lost. Tina, did you and Bette ever have that baby you both wanted? How would you describe your life together now?
Pancha , a great story through the end. The ending is proper, they could not be together with all that happened. I believe you are a romantic at heart and I as well with realism attach to it. As the saying goes of you truly love someoone, love them enough to let them go. I think Bette and Tina are in a better place, albeit with different people.(I still don’t like the pairing of leigh and bette, although I was kinda feeling Tina’s pairing with the young attorney. anyway I have a few Questions:1. Tina, have you forgiven Bette? How long did it take and when did you realize it?2.To Bette& Tina: What was last conversation between you two?3.Are you guys real friends?4.Is the group still intact?5.Tina, do you still live in the house?6.Bette, Are you still with leigh?7. Tina are you with the attorney?8.To bette and Tina: If are not currently seeing anyone, have you had any brief encounters? Would you guys consider getting back together? do you think it would work this time?9.Bette, Do you forgive Tina for humiliating you?10. Tina, why did you think it would be acceptable to have an open relationship while you just got back together with Bette? That’s it for now, thanks
Well. I am a baby.lol. I don’t like this ending but the writing was extraordinary especially the first 4-5 chapters. If this should happen on TLW in S3 that would be “it” for me. Not that anyone cares including IC but TiBette is the couple for me. They are the “straw that stirs the drink”. Reggie Jackson once said that about himself and his role for the NY Yankees. I tried to put up some cogent agruments and pleas w/you, Pancha. But you would not hear of it so in some ways why does it matter if we had questions? Unless, you carefully explain your rationale for separating them rather than keep them together. You did a phenomenal job. Brava.
How sad I feel right now. Even though you could tell it was heading this way, its still depressing and sad. I’ve always been a firm believer that you can’t go back. I almost did once, and then realized just in time, that what had been wrong, was still going to me, and that no matter how much we cared about each other, it wasn’t going to work. B&TF, you go girl. Of course we don’t want this for them. If S3 totally ends up this way, I don’t know if my neighbors will be able to handle the screaming coming from my house. They are our hope, our dreams, our moment of happiness in a world where their is so much unhappiness. They can get around it, but only if they can let go of the past. Whats done is done, you have to be willing to move forward and not look back. You know its like if Tina and Bette can’t make it, were all screwed.
Sorry,Tina, did you and Bette have that baby boy you both wanted? (I left out the “boy” in my last post.
In the interview I will certainly have Bette and Tina try to explain what they talked about that night and what caused them to move on.
Another great story finished! Thanks again, Pancha. I’m not fond of the final solution a lot, but I did enjoy your writing. The end is a new beginning. So maybe it’s time for you to start a new and HAPPY B/T story? lol… Ok, time for the questions. To be fair, I guess I’ll ask each of you one question. Tina: If you can’t stay in a relationship with Bette, I couldn’t imagine you could do it with anyone else. Have you ever regretted your decision during the five years? Bette: Actually I’ve no questions for you. I said, just to be fair, haha. Pancha: Do you think B/T will break up for good at the end of this season? Write a thesis to analyse it! lol…
I need more stories like this to prepare me for S3. Seems Bette has waited for so long for Tina to sort her feelings out last Season, and it continues this season, I say Bette needs someone to love her.
I’m speechless, but I can’t say that I didn’t suspect it would end this way. Although I want Bette and Tina together forever, your portrayal of them is true to life in the sense that two people can love each other, but love is sometimes not enough. Well done!
that was a sad ending, but WE ALL knew it was coming, that was beautifully written.I have one question, 5 yrs down the track, does fate and destiny bring them back to what is and will always be “true love”
Thanks for this heartbreaking, but beautifully written story, Pancha. My question is for both Bette and Tina. You stood before someone, who you believed without a doubt was the person you were meant to spend the rest of your life with…yet now that you know that you were wrong…did that parting of ways affect your belief in yourself, and your capablity of having, and maintaining a life long relationship?
*sigh* I’m not happy with this ending but I really understand why it’s the right one.. To my surprise I’m not as depressed as I thought I will be.. I think with another story like this one I will be totally ready for B&T’s break up by the end of this season.. No questions at the moment.. might come back when I think of some.. Thanks for this wonderful journey..
Pancha, I am so very sad but at least I understand your version (unlike IC) I do believe you could continue this story 5 years in the future and have our girls get back togetherQuestion for b & t: What was the conversation you had five years ago? and each of your view points. How are the two of you doing now? Bette, you had said you could never be friends. How do you feel now?Pancha…please write us a 5 years later. I just asked those questions and I am very sad.
If this wasn’t the romantic ending we all might have liked, you’ve made it most convincing that this is the sanest and most mature one these two (as you’ve created them) could achieve. I do hope they could be friendly at least, and able to build their new relationships on sounder, more enduring foundations. Growing up as one grows older is the best possible way to go, which is what you’ve had happen to these two. I know you to be perceptive, Pancha, so I think you already know that I have become a dedicated fan of your work. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for any bone you care to throw us here in the future. The sooner the better, please.
Here are two things I believe in strongly. I believe in love and I believe in really good writing. You delivered on the latter, but the ending failed me on the former. In the beginning you stated this was a story you had to tell. I hope it gave YOU what YOU needed. Thank you for writing and entertaining us.
hey i wanted to say that was amazing it made me cry also thanx for sharing your wonderful story i dont know about the ending though i was really hoping that B&T would get back together it was a great story thanx
This is the ending I felt coming, but it still saddens me. But there is so much truth and realism in your depiction that it feels, nonetheless, right. I too wonder about what was said that last night. And am curious about their lives after 5 years. I would also like to ask both of them if their break up has brought both of them to a deeper level of consciousness, of what it means to “love” another person.Kudos to you, Pancha, for writing such a mature and evocative story.
That was truly amazing.Very sad but very true to life. It was I assume a classy ending that night and not the harsh way the show seems to be headed. My question is: How is the gang & are B & T truly happy down the road?
Damn this is sad and can’t believe at the end they not back together, so sad. Hope this is not happen in S3. Thank you for sharing the story with us and hope you have a new one soon.Ok Thanks!
I always like to think of myself as a glass half-full sort of girl, but I didn’t really feel that B&T could overcome their forgiveness issues and so here we are! I’m sad, because like almost all of us I like to believe in a forever kind of love. Reality bites huh! Anyways, I’m relieved that Tina has the expectation of a new relationship. Wouldn’t like to see her as broken as in Lastkid’s story. Thanks so much for this story, it’s been wonderfully written throughout. Look forward to your next one!
Tho i knew the ending in my heart.. it was still so unbelievably sad to read,You wrote this so well and with so much compassion, showing that no matter how hard it was to part and with so much hurt involved they still managed to come out the other side…and im assuming with some form of friendship intact,The moving on had to be hard, the letting go of what they HAD!…Very sad but in alot of ways very realistic…Thankyou for writting this amazeing story.B
Question(s) for B&T – (1) Are you both happy?(2) How long have you been with your current partner, what are their names and are you truly, madly, deeply in love with them, do you both want forever with them? (3) How is Angelica, does she have any siblings. (4) What have you learned about yourselves since the breakup. (5) Can you both sit in each others company with your own partners and all be comfortable with each other. Question time now over. Thank you pancha.
Pancha…You wrote such a brillant story and I would like to thank you for this intriguing tale. Although, the outcome was sad it is a possibility for our B & T. As much as it breaks my heart, sometimes love isn’t enough. As depressing as it is, sometimes you have to walk away from someone you love so that you don’t end up hating them. You don’t lose the love, it simply changes to something not meant forever. So, I guess a question to both B & T would be: What was the determining factor in deciding it was truly over?
how could you do that to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hmm..does THIS story really ends well? looks like is heading the same direction as S3. hmm… *ponders
You have some very interesting questions which will provide me with much food for thought. I won’t be posting the interview quickly because Iwill have to take time thinking about it and, of course, writing it. Thanks.
Okay, I think I have just 1 (2 maybe?) question that I’d like B&T to answer: Looking back, was the WHOLE relationship (meaning the good and bad times) worth it and why or why not? Pancha this one is for you: Do you think Tina or Bette has grown the most since the show started?
Pancha, Very, Very Well Done!!!! Thank you for a GREAT STORY!!! Can not wait to read more of your stories. You are a Great Writer!!!!
I had to peek. I could not stop myself….”Excuse me while I disappear”… Frank Sinatra
