Bette entered the Planet, a small café in West Hollywood owned by none other than her sister. She looked around trying to spot Tina but she couldn’t see her, she walked up to the counter and was greeted by Kit.

“Hey baby girl” Kit smiled “You here to see Tina?”

“Yeah have you seen her?” Bette smiled at her sister before once again scanning the café for the blonde.

“She’s sitting by a table in the back” Kit answered “Did anything happen?”

“What do you mean?” Bette asked, knitting her brows together in confusion as she looked at her sister.

“Well…” Kit started “…she seems upset and kind of unfocused, she had me worried but wouldn’t say what was wrong” she answered giving Bette a worried look.

“I’ll go talk to her” Bette said and walked hurriedly into the back of the Planet where she spotted the blonde sitting alone by a table, tightly clutching on to the cup of coffee in front of her as she stared out into space.

Tina had called her earlier at work saying that she needed to see her and talk to her. Bette hadn’t thought much of it at the time, Tina always called her when she needed someone to talk to and it had been like that since they were teenagers.

Bette and Tina met in high school and very quickly became best friends. During the years in high school it was like they were glued together, they did everything together and shared everything with each other. Once they went off to different colleges they vowed to stay in touch which they successfully managed to do.

Bette went off to Yale to study art history. A few months into her first semester she met Coleman, a handsome and funny guy, who she started dating and stayed together with for seven months. Though she had a good time with Coleman she never felt that attraction to him that she had read about in books and saw in movies. She was never a big fan of the sex either, sometimes it was good but it was just not what she had expected sex to be like. Once she got a new art history professor, Danica Palmer, she realized that she in fact didn’t have any interest in men. She was crushing big time on her new professor and it confused her and even scared her a bit. One night she called up Tina and with tears rolling down her cheeks she confessed that she had a crush on her professor.
