“Hey Al it’s me I’m coming in, “Kit says. It was her day to look after Alice.

Opening Alice bedroom door slowly Kit walks slowly to Alice side of the bed with carrying a tray of food. Kit places the tray on the dresser and then gently sits beside Alice. She was laying on her side clinching Tasha favorite sweater in her arms crying uncontrollably. Seeing Kit, Alice swifts her body to where now her head is laying directly in Kits lap.

“It hurts so much Kit, “Alice says crying and barely able to get the words out.

Kit begins to gently rub Alice back trying to soothe her the best she could, “I know it does baby girl I know it does.”

“I miss her so fucking much.”

“I know you do Al we all do.”

Kit gently raises Alice to where she is sitting up. Looking into her eyes the pain that was so visible in her eyes. Her eyes were damn near swollen shut for Kit seeing Alice in the state she was in broke her heart. She didn’t know what else to say so she carefully wrapped her arms around her and hugged her cradling her in her arms.

“Al I know you don’t want to but you really need to eat something I made you some homemade vegetarian creamy chicken noodle soup.”

Pulling back from the hug and staring Kit in the face, “I’m not hungry Kit.”

“You haven’t eaten in two days, “Kit says moving the hair that had fallen in Alice face. “Even if it’s just a couple of bites you need to put something in your stomach, please Al.”

Alice stares at Kit hesitantly.

“Hey look to make it easier on you I’ll even feed you, “ Kit says picking up the bowl of soup, scooping some of the soup in the spoon and placing it in front of Alice hoping she would open her mouth. “Please Al.”

Reluctantly Alice opens her mouth allowing Kit to feed her. She took ten spoonfuls of soup before letting Kit know that she had enough and was ready to lay back down. Kit honoring her request tucks her back in bed and kisses her on the forehead. She tells Alice if she needed anything she would be right across the hall. After Kit exited her bedroom Alice fell back asleep fifteen minutes later.
