Bette finally decided to retreat from the bath, and make herself cozy in her bed..as much as she could without holding Tina in her arms again..’Damn’ she thought, ‘It felt so good to hold her. Out of the women I have spent time with, I have never felt that kind of feeling before..I am definately falling for this woman…something, I usually wouldn’t let happen. But, she is my soul mate and now all I have to do is make sure that I help her to realize that’.. Bette finally drifted off to sleep………..
Tina also retreated from the bath, and made herself comfortable in her bed..By this time she was definately confused..Brad had been so angry on the phone, yet she didn’t care as long as she had Bette around her. Even though she felt a little uncomfortable, she had felt safe. Just then the phone rang:
Beep…’Goddammit, Tina, answer the ***** phone. I know you are there. I saw you…tonite with
that lady from the gallery..You had better call me..You have 15 minutes, and I’m gonna come over there…click..
Immediately, Tina got aftaid…’*****, what am I going to do? I don’t have Bette’s number….*****, phone book dummy…look her number up.’ Tina carefully strolled down the list of P’s in the phone book..”Porter,Bette…………555-1212.’ she said aloud..
She picked up the phone and began to dial..just as she looked at the clock…’Dammit..it’s too late’ she thought..as she hung the phone up..
After thinking about it, ‘***** It.’ and she picked the phone up again and dialed it.
“Hello?” answered Bette..
Tina didn’t say anything at first….
“H-E-L-L-O? *****..Speak…” Bette said angrily..
“Um.” said Tina, “I am so sorry to call you so late..”
“Ah, *****… Tina…I am so sorry.. I didn’t mean to…”
“No. It’s okay. Did I wake you?” asked Tina.
“yea, but it’s okay…are you alright?”
“Um, is there any way I could come over?”
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yea..can I meet you somewhere? I don’t know where you live..” said Tina
“No.No. I don’t live far from you..Give me a few minutes and I will be there to pick you up..Is something the matter?”
“Um, Brad called..He’s angry, and it’s kinda scaring me..he said if I didn’t answer the phone then he would be over here in 15 minutes or so..” said Tina as she started to cry..
“*****..Listen to me Tina.” said Bette strongly, “Get a few things and meet me in front of the pool out front..that way if he shows up, he won’t see you…”
“O-O-Okay..” said Tina..still upset..
“I will be there in 10….I promise….” Bette hung the phone up, jumped out of bed and got dressed. She was out the door in 3 minutes flat….’*****, I’ve never been that quick to get dressed.’ she thought.
She drove as fast as she could to get to Tina before Brad did…Into the complex, she sped…She got to the pool and stopped…Tina ran out and got into her car….still sobbing..
“I am so sorry for calling you so late..” she cried..” I didn’t know who else to call…”
“It’s okay” said Bette as she wiped Tina’s tears away…”You can call me anytime..and I will be right there for you..”
“Oh, *****..let’s go..” said Tina panicking..”There is Brad’s truck..”
Bette put the car in drive and pulled out of the complex as Brad pulled up in front of Tina’s..
“Where do you want to go?” asked Bette..
“I don’t want to impose, but do you think I could stay with you tonight?” asked Tina through tears..
“yea..sure…I was gonna inquire about that, but I didn’t know if that would be one of your options..”
“Only if it’s okay” said Tina..
“I don’t mind really..” said Bette..
They drove back to Bette’s place and Tina was thouroughly impressed by her set up…”My gosh, this is so nice.” said Tina as she looked around and admired everything…
“Thank you…I’m gonna try to get some sleep..I know you will be safe here, so you should try to sleep too. Here is my room.” said Bette as she led Tina into a large room with a 4-post bed…”You sleep here tonight…I’ll take the couch..”
“I can’t let you do that…” said Tina..
“I insist.” said Bette..”If you need anything you just get it…make yourself comfortable…and get some sleep, Tina..”
Bette turned to leave the room and get a few blankets, “Bette?” Tina called out..
Bette turned around, “Yea?”
“Thank you…You are so good to me..”
Bette walked over to Tina and pulled her into a hug..Tina felt so safe and all she wanted to do was crawl into that bed with Bette by her side..Have Bette hold her all night.
“No thanks are needed..I do for you because I want to…Now, Get some sleep..” Bette demanded.
Bette left the bedroom and retrieved some blankets and a pillow from the hall closet. As she settled in on the couch, all she could think about
was the fact that the woman she was falling for was in her bed right now…without her….How her heart ached….
Tina, on the other hand, lay in Bette’s bed, with the satin sheets..she could smell Bette on her pillow…Wow, what it would be like to go to sleep with
this woman every night in this bed, and be awaken by her in the morning….She soon drifted off to sleep…
Early the next morning, Tina was awaken by Bette laying next to her with her arm draped over Tina’s side. She rolled over and looked at Bette who was starining at her… “Morning.” said Bette as she smiled..
“I thought you were sleeping on the couch..” said Tina..
“I was..but you woke up from a nightmare, so I came in to lay with you until you were fully asleep again…I guess I fell asleep..I’m sorry.”
“that’s ok..” said Tina as she looked away..looking quite afraid..
“Are you okay?” asked Bette as she began to get worried.
“Y-Yes…I am okay..”
“I’ve got to get ready for work..” said Bette as she climbed out of bed..” Do you want me to take you back to your place or is there somewhere else you would like to go?”
“Um…”
“Or you can just hang out here if you want…there are movies…maybe not like yours…and there is food in the fridge…you can make yourself comfortable…” invited Bette
“When will you get back here?” asked Tina.
“I can come home early if you are going to be here…” said Bette as she smiled and walked over to Tina, who had got out of bed to go to the bathroom…
“You have my number at work…Why don’t you just call me later and let me know what’s going on?”
“Ok. sounds great..” said Tina smiling…
Bette pulled Tina into her arms and held her for what felt like an eternity..she pulled away, “If you need anything…absolutely anything….just call me, ok?”
“Yes, ma’am…” agreed Tina…
Bette leaned in and thier lips touched yet again, soft and delicious it was…Bette took it a little further this time..she gently pushed her tongue through the
opening of Tina’s lips and their tongues began to intertwine with eachother, slowly and very softly…Bette was getting a little heated as she put her arms around Tina’s back and pulled her closer so that their bodies were resting against one another…Tina let out a moan….
Bette was getting a little hotter than she wanted at this moment, so she pulled back from Tina…As they looked into eachother’s eyes, they had both just realized
that their souls were blending with eachother…Their hearts were beginning to become one, as their lives would soon be…
“Um,” stuttered Bette, “I have to get ready, before I decide not to go to work at all today…” she smiled and turned to go get her clothes ready..
Tina went to the bathroom, then came out and immediately went to the kitchen…she was always hungry when she first woke up so she decided to see what Bette was hiding in the cabinets. She looked around, and found a cereal bar…she sat at the table and began to eat…
A few minutes later, Bette came into the kitchen..she grabbed her briefcase and went over to Tina..she leaned down to kiss her gently on the lips…”I will be waiting patiently for your call today…” and she smiled a grin so big….
“I will call…I promise….” said Tina as she smiled…Bette turned to walk away and stopped when Tina called out her name again, “Have a great day, babe..”
“And likewise to you….”..They both had realized what was going on between them…and both liked it…including Tina…’I’m gonna stick around here and wait…’she thought.
