Bette rises from her spot and stretches her hands out to Tina. She helps Tina to her feet and wraps her in an embrace.

            “I guess we should get out of here.” She whispers pulling Tina into a tighter embrace before placing a soft kiss on her lips.

            “I guess so.” Tina deepens their kiss. The rain is now falling harder. Water is often seen as a cleansing force. As it falls upon their skin both women become cleansed of their past lives together hope of a new life is just beyond the horizon. They continue to kiss in the rain feeling themselves relax. Everything feels as a dream might.

            “Let’s get you home and dry.” Bette presses her forehead against Tina’s her arms around her waist. “I don’t want you getting sick or anything happening to her.” She slides her hand over Tina’s abdomen. ‘You are so beautiful.’ Bette thinks smiling to herself.

            With that the two women walk back to the car hand in hand. They arrive at the car Bette opening Tina’s door.

            “Here.” Handing her the keys. “Turn the car on and turn up the heat and I’ll put these things in the trunk.” Bette is continuing to surprise Tina. She smiles and grabs the keys. After a moment Bette finds herself in the drivers seat.

            “Toasty.” She says putting her hands on the steering wheel. She looks over at Tina. “How you doing over there beautiful?” Her smile stuns Tina, how she had missed that smile.

            “Just great.” She says softly.

            “Good I’m glad to hear it.” Bette reaches over and takes Tina’s hand in hers. “Thank you.” She kisses Tina’s hand.

            “I should be the one thanking you.”

            “No, really thank you for helping me see that life means nothing without love.”

            “I love you and this woman you’re evolving into.”

            “Thanks to you and our relationship.”

            “Let’s go home.” Tina whispers. Bette doesn’t respond she simply begins to drive.

            They pull into Bette’s drive way. Bette steals a glance at Tina who has fallen asleep.  She reaches over and caresses Tina’s cheek.

            “Babe…” she whispers gently waking Tina from her slumber. “We’re here.” A soft moan escapes Tina’s lips as her eyes flutter into waking.
