    And Then…You

As Stevie painted her new studio she thought again about all of what Kit had said.  She realized she was very right and had to kick herself into high gear.  If she wanted her woman back she was going to have to show her she was a new woman and the right woman for her.  As she watched the roller cover over the white places bring color to the space, she envisioned that it was her life she was looking at.  It was very much a blank slate.  Xavier gave her the foundation and Bette added the beautiful color.  She cherished that now more then ever.  She placed the roller in the bucket and had a renewed outlook on things.

It was time to get her woman back.

Stevie had made sure to be at the house when the kids came home after day care, woke up and went to sleep.  She didn’t want them to suspect there was anything wrong with their mommies.  She owed them at least that much.  Angelica was thrilled to see she was back and didn’t seem to harbor any pent up aggravation towards her.  She forgot quickly as many kids so.  Stevie made sure to cook dinner for all of them every night then without question to respected Bette’s wishes and left.  Bette was starting to feel that maybe she was being too hard on Stevie.  It was obvious that she was trying to be a part of the kids lives once more.  Bette wanted to talk to her but Stevie didn’t seem to want to hear it.  She had plans to show Bette exactly how she felt about her and she had no intentions of not enacting them.  Stevie had gone through great lengths to prove to the group she cared about each of them.  Once that was out the way, she focused all of her attention on Bette.

By the time Friday rolled around Bette was torn.  She knew that Stevie wanted to remain a constant staple in the lives of the kids and her friends but she still wasn’t 100% about their relationship.  Her worries were eased when she came back from lunch with a small photo on her desk.  It was a black and white of a landscape.  A beach of some sort.  It was blurred.  The photo was of a seemingly happy mood but it was done in a somber tone.  Bette picked all that up right away.  Stevie knew she would.  Bette turned the photo over and read.

    1. I am so happy to see this!! Stevie has got to start somewhere and I think this is really good. She is showing Bette how important she is to Stevie, and I think she has gotten it into her head that she has to go on showing Bette how she brings bright colors into Stevie’s life. Of course they need to talk and work together, but I also want to add that Bette was just a wee bit naive to think, that with as tortured a life as Stevie has had, that all the fear and pain would just go away. Now Bette also has to step up and love Stevie enough to know that it will be a process for Stevie, and something she will always have to deal with at some points. Vibes you ROCK!
