Angel Fire – 20
Angel Fire
The fight – round 2
chapter 20
Bette and Tina’s home
“How’s Stacy doing?” Bette asked as Tina returned to their home.
“Oh, ok, I guess. I stayed until I knew she was asleep.
“I offered to stay all night, to sleep on the couch so she wouldn’t be alone,” Tina continued. “But she didn’t want me to.”
“Angie’s also asleep, I think.”
They went outside and sat together on the lounge and drank some wine that Bette had poured for them.
“The abridged version,” said Tina, “is that Stacy thinks that Angelica doesn’t love her and all she wants is sex. That she doesn’t want to do things that Stacy wants, things not related to sex. That she’s also not mindful about the study time Stacy needs…and the work time.”
“Well, that fits,” said Bette. “Angie thinks that Stacy doesn’t love her because she doesn’t want to have sex.”
“I have been assured that they have frequent sex,” Tina pointed out.
“Oh, yeah. I’m sure of that. It’s just not enough for Angelica. And maybe Angel gets her feelings hurt when she’s turned down.”
“And maybe she’s like her mama and has difficulty expressing love other than physically,” Tina said softly and took Bette into her arms.
*************
Actually, they weren’t far from the truth about what happened with the girls. The fight was based on long-term problems but came to a head the night before Angelica returned to her mom’s home.
Stacy had come back to the condo, tired as usual from her part time job. Angie was fast asleep in the bedroom and Stacy went to the small kitchen and put together a pasta salad, got out some crackers and made some iced tea.
“Wake up, Jely,” Stacy kissed her girlfriend on the head.
They ate quickly and both prepared to do homework. Stacy had her nose in a book working on problems of how to spot accounting inaccuracies. Then she had to work on a math course and write up a paper in Business English.
Angie was watching a video.
When the video concluded, Angelica got up, stretched and looked hopefully at Stacy who was at the computer, working on an essay. When Stacy didn’t seem to notice her, she drifted into the bathroom to take a shower.

Um, when Angelica brought up Bette’s affair I wanted to say a prayer for her…wasn’t sure if she was going to make it out of that kitchen alive. Another fantastic chapter Pancha.
‘until they get their brains involved’ is too right!!!! and I thought T was going to commit murder!!!! isn’t maturity nice????? but how come Angie gets to be so much like Bette (in most of the stories I’ve read actually), she’s genetically Tina’s and Marcus’ daughter so more than predisposed to be like them rather than mama B; unless she’s learned all this behaviour from Bette? and I doubt that Bette would show that side of herself to Jeli!!! never mind, love this story, looking out for more.
I knew the reaction to Angelica’s, for lack of a better term, fuck up would be bad, but I really didn’t expect a near repeat of the bitchslap Bette got. I figured their problems had something to do with sex. It seems like it’s either sex or money, or even both. No one is immune.
Wow angie really knows how to push peoples’ buttons.Glad tina didn’t let them leave together.Angie and Stacy need to be honest in their talk. post soon =)
OMG! When Angelica said her little smart ass comment about Bette and Tina, I had flash backs of my mama damn near relocating my mouth and teeth to diffrent countries than the rest of my body. Hahahaha. I was mumbling, “You better hold her, Bette… Poor Angie, if Tina gets loose” and shaking my head for the poor girl. Then I breathed a sigh of relief when Tina simply left the room. That sigh was immediately followed by, “Now why didn’t my mama do that?”… the answer to which is, “Cause mama didn’t take no shit… ESPECIALLY from her children.” Damn, those were the good ole days. Great chapter btw! =)
Tina was so great! and she is rigth they have to learn to talk and resolve their problems not just said sorry. I am glad that Bette stopped Tina before she did something than next will regrets. The yoda talk surely will help them so much. about the Alien name if the alien is a smart one then i definitly can give it my nickname! LOL! very good post!
That was a close call for Angelica!! I’ll repeat what I left in the comments on the last chapter. Angelica and Stacy are so lucky to have B&T’s wisdom and experience to help them with their relationship. Angelica’s gotta learn that sex isn’t everything but most important of all, communication is keyt for both. And now, it’s time for Yoda to impart some of her wisdom on them too! Great chapter!!
Ohhhhhhh jeli has the porter backlash that is 4 sure..B and t handled both of them wellll
It’s nice to see so much parental wisdom and Bette fortunately spared Angel the wrath of an über irate Tina. Wow, breaking the cycle of poor communication glossed over by make-up sex, a small step for woman kind!
Ok, angelica just made me mad this time. I know she is only 18, but she is clearly not in the least bit mature enough to be in a relationship, which is also about caring about the other’s wants and needs as well as just having tons of sex. Angelica’s behavior was just childish and in my opinion, Stacy had nothing to apologize for. In addition, I think tina should have slapped Angie’s face for that extremely hurtful comment, and just the “I’m sorry” doesn’t cut it. I’m thinking though that it’s time that Bette and Tina back out of the relationship. Angie and Stacy can’t be adults just when they are screwing their brains out and then kids when it all goes wrong so mommies have to fix it. Just my two cents…
That was some mighty deep poo Angelica stepped into. A different issue altogether, but it reminded me of the one time my mother slapped me. I can’t say it was undeserved. Shocked the shit out of me, though. I can understand the parents wanting their kids to have a safe haven as they make their first forays into sexuality, but just coming out of high school, Stacy and Angelica may simply be too young to live together. They’re each at a stage where they should still be finding a lot to learn about themselves, things they would need to know before being capable of commitment.
Angie, Angie, Angie, loose lips sinks ships and Tina almost sunk Angie’s here. I ca hardly believe that she said that. They need to talk with Shane, but Anglica also needs to talk to Bette to find out how deeply her cheating hurt both her and Tina. Great chapter Pancha, this story just seems to grow on both the writer and reader (So much for a quick story, or just a couple of chapters hee, hee.), but we are LOVING IT! :o)
My mother slapped my face, once, when I was about 7 or 8, I stuck my tongue out at her. Deserved, yes, but as she was walking away from me, I will never to this day know how she knew I did it!! DO mothers have eyes in the back of their heads??
what a wonderful chapter, so mcu to think about, so much to learn from…i’m glad B&T were there for the younger couple
the words outta my mouth after readin what Angel said to B & T was….”oh fuck”, I loved how calmly Bette sat there asked what she did in the manner that she did, and then how she went to be there for Tina, the ending of the chapter was priceless. And I’d love to know why we lesbians love to make love to our women so much (NOT)…LOL!!!!!
Yea, I don’t read much detective novels ;) I’ve got the DaVinci Code book lying on my desk for weeks and yet I’ve picked it up to read :P
It is so sweet how the moms want to help them out so much. Wonderful story and excellent post as always. thank you :o)
I loved how Bette grabbed Tina quickly before she would have lunged at Angelica. I love your writing.
I haven’t left comments before so be gentle but I just love this story and so silent no more. Now if I can only get pancha to come tuck me in and tell me a bedtime story every night I could die a happy woman!:)
Angie might be Tina’s biologically but she inherited Bette’s sex drive, temper and eyes….lol I held my breath when I read her comments about Bette’s affair…that was a close call. The girls do need to talk though or the same issues will come right back. Can’t wait for your next post.
Angie was lucky that she never felt Tina’s wrath like Bette had felt. She was lucky that Bette was there to take some of the sting away from those hurtful words that she threw out at her moms. Tina has become very wise and hopefully will help Stacy and Angie from facing those same mistakes that Bette and Tina made. Thank you for the post.
I think it’s kind of odd that her mums supervise their relationship like that! I’ll freak if my mum did it to me… :P But you write really well and you get me hooked!
Wow! I can’t believe Jely brought up the fact that Bette cheated on Tina. Oh my gosh i thought Tina was going to strangle her daughter right then and there. i don’t know if having Shane of all people talk to Jely and Stacy about relationships and communication is the best idea……has anyone met Shane? She isn’t the committment and talking type last time i checked. Can’t wait for the next chapter.
pancha…You’re doing a great job w/this story. I really appreciate yopur individuals comments to posters. It is very considerate of you. I am surprised that B & T took Angie’s remark about the affairs etc so calmly after Tina’s initial reaction. they are calmer than I would’ve been.
There’s nothing wrong with young love but problems start when the parties involved aren’t mature (or one of them), good to see that the girls will learn from B&T’s past mistakes and some of Yoda’s expertise, hope that Angie will realize that sex even though is extremely important there’s a lot more in a relationship than sex, opposite staments but very connected. Deep chapter.
I thought Angie going to take her teeths at the floor whe I see Tina come to her way and glad Bette stop her. Ok let see what’s next, thanks!
Pancha, That was jaw dropping, tendering hookingly fabulous. I know that Bette and Tina would sorely have loved to have such experienced hands guiding them through the rough and treacherous relationship seas than they sailed. Angel’s comment about Tina’s forgiveness of Bette was astounding as was Tina’s almost instaneous response. Thak the heavens that Bette was able to restrain her and avoid actual physical contact. Then, the lunch was brilliant as the white flags were raised and Détente reached. I just adore the way Tina kept the gals away thus increasing their desire and making them work things out thoroughly and not repeat the mistakes of Bette and Tina’s past. I can’t wait to see what Aunt Shane has to add to the mix. i am sure it will be a blast. Thank you so much for this wonderful insight into a new and budding romance. You Loyal Fan.
Angie jumped into some knee deep shit with that comment. I thought Tina was going to slap her into next week! Part of me wishes shw ould have and another part not. That was a “highly inappropriate” thing to say to her parents, ESPECIALLY coming from Angelica. Both Angelica nd Stacy need a bit of a break from each other, more so with Angel. Post soon!
heehee, I know an easy way to solve the current problem — Angel and Stacy could choose the same specialty. =P Wow, just imagine how nice it would be if they could make it a life-long relationship. They’d have much more ceremonies than Bette and Tina. It’s fantastic to meet your soul mate so young. =D
Oh no she di’nt! …Where is Aunt Kit? Angelica needs a Strong Black Woman (thank you, Kathy Griffin!) to put her in her place. I agree with most readers here: if I had said that, I would have been picking myself up in the middle of next week! …Young folks need to stay out of old folks’ business! Is middle-aged Bette Porter completely p-whipped? The old Bette would have come storming home from Milk (love the ubiquitous Red in every one of your stories) and given Angie a tongue-lashing (damn that seems an imappropriate turn of phrase, doesn’t it??) I think they are too young to be this serious, and Angie needs to channel her passion into something that will drive her, like her destiny as a painter that she is avoiding. …Pancha, does it ever get boring, writing this well, chapter after chapter? Thanks! BTW, can you bring back some of the other characters from ‘What is Love’??? I miss them, particularly the Texas woman and Tina’s couple friends!
always splendid chappie from you..!
Instead of Tina telling Angelica to go get the table ready for lunch, I thought she was going to tell her to go to her room and think abut what she just said to them. Either way, I know they were both hurt by Angelica’s outburst. The more you write, the more Angelica appears like Bette; one would think that Bette is the one that gave birth to her.
I though tina was going to kill angel…
Hey Pancha – I haven’t left comments in a while, but now I’m back and catching up. I simply loves this story, the way you write is so brilliant, clever and very tender, you’re very talented :o)) This story is coming to the end, I hope you’ll write more fantastic and crazy in love B&T :o))
I agree with CPQ that Bette needs to sit her daughter down and talk to her relationships and sex and never ever ever talking to Tina again in that manner. come on Bette step up and set your daughter on the right path. Pancha this is an interesting view of parents being involved in their child’s sexual awakening.
Said Bette Porter, the woman in love…LOLThank you so much!
