    I have always thought of myself as a confident person, and yet, if I am honest, I find myself so unsure……….

     

    CHAPTER 3

    As Angelica made her way back to her hotel, she could not help but wonder what it was about this mysterious painter that she found so intriguing. Sure she originally wanted the painting, but as they had sat and talked that evening, there was something more. She just could not pinpoint what it was.

    For her part, Lyndsay too found the encounter with Angelica to be quite unsettling, but it had nothing to do with her wanting to buy the painting. It was just a fact that she never sold her works to anyone, but it wasn’t this that was causing the discomfort she now felt. It was also not that this was a stranger who she had only met that very afternoon, and one whom she had just agreed to meet the next day and wander the streets of Rome with.

    When she had stared into Angelica’s eyes, she saw something deeper there. This was a complicated young woman, who had obviously traveled the world, but at the same time, seemed so grounded and down to earth. There appeared to be nothing superficial or phony about her. This was not a common occurrence in many people these days. In Lyndsay’s life, someone always seemed to want something from her, and even though the initial contact with Angie had been slightly strained as the gallery owner had tried to purchase what was not for sale, Lyndsay could not help but feel an attraction to this young stranger. Almost like a stronger force or desire was at play that encouraged her to find out more about Angelica Kennard-Porter.

    When she had quickly got up to leave and Angie had placed her hand on her arm, Lyndsay had felt a tingle in her body that she couldn’t remember ever feeling before. It was like a jolt of electricity had shot through her body. At no time in her life had she felt this type of reaction to anyone let alone someone she had just met, or especially with a woman.

    The next morning……..

    Angelica did not sleep well the previous night. When the alarm sounded, she had slammed her hand down on it to turn it off and rolled over grumbling to herself. After about 15 minutes she finally found the strength to sit up and drag her body out of bed and into the shower.

    8. This is a very interesting story and I am happy to know that both Tina and Bette are in this story. When I read the first chapter and only saw Bette mentioned, I wondered where Tina was and then I saw your author’s notes. I have several guesses about who this young lady is but I will not voice them yet, I will wait and ssee as will everyone else. PPS
