    Trouble in paradise?

    Bette sat in bed reading over some papers for the next day.  She peered over to the night stand clock that read 10:00 pm.  She looked over to the other side of the bed that was still perfectly made from when the cleaning lady had come.  This wasnt the first late night she was forced to endure.  Harmony had a demanding job and Bette had nearly a year to get used to that fact.  Lately however it seemed more frequent.  It seemed that the late nights of 10 and 11 pm that only happened around major events were now happening due to the smaller ones as well.  Bette had no reason to question Harmony none-the-less.  She trusted Harmony with every part of her being.  Harmony had done too much to woo, get, obtain, and sustain Bette.  There was no way she would go outside of what they had.  Or was there?  Bette thought back to when she and Tina were together.  Tina probably reassured herself this same way.  Made excuses for missed calls and late nights.  Used her job as a probable cause of her absence.  Bette also thought as Tina did that no, theres no way she would go outside our relationship.  Bette was now standing firmly in Tinas shoes and she felt sick to her stomach.  She could only hope that her intuition was indeed leading her into the wrong direction. 

                She picked up her Treo and sent Harmony a text message.  Harmony had gotten this phone and she cannot remember a time when a call, email, or text message was sent and not replied to or acknowledged soon after its arrival into her partners phone.  After sending it she waited.  The silence in the house only gave her imagination room to play and plague her.  Her mind ran the gamut of things Harmony could possibly be doing besides work.  She thought of Harmonys past and her reputations for being a lady killer.  She thought of the scores of women who threw themselves at her on a daily basis, some even while Bette was standing there.  Bette took comfort in the fact that Harmony now had a ring.  Her ring.  A more permanent mark to indicate that she was claimed for a property of one Mrs. Bette Porter-Scott.  The ring however only gave minimal satisfaction.  Bette also knew how women could be when they set there mind to a certain conquest.  She herself had worn another ring for several years but that did little to curtail the advances from women and men alike for that matter.  And even when Bette made it clear that she was spoken for they would sometimes continue to pursue.

    1. Loved this,…but im not so sure i want their to be too much drama between these 2…..i love how you just dip into their lives..keeping us updated ……I dont expect it to always be smooth sailing………maybe just the odd hiccup..lol…Thanks loving this

    8. It’s a great chapter. Every feelings seem so real. Maybe Bette could try to get busier. I know it’s not a way to communicate, but sometimes you have to do so to get notice from your partner. Only if your partner realise you’re also doing some ‘important’ job, she’ll pay attention to you or the relationship. And I’d like to see a more alpha Bette.
