"Baby, what’s going on?"
A few minutes after taking her seat, Bette had been called backstage where she worriedly rushed to her sick girlfriend.
Tina looked worried and afraid herself as she frantically tapped her throat while shaking her head.
"Can’t . ."
The words were barely audible and Bette’s eyes widened when she realized what happened.
"What happened? You were fine a few minutes ago, did you drink anything?"
Tina shook head as her eyes became glossy with tears. Bette noticed the way her bottom lip trembled before she covered it with a shaky hand.
"Oh baby . . come here"
Bette pulled her lover into a warm embrace, the sadness and disappointment in Tina’s eyes was enough to break the brunette’s heart. She knew how badly Tina wanted to perform that night.
Just then, Roger made his way over to the two women and clapped his hands together for a job well done, "Okay, I talked to Brian and Amanda in sounds and handled everything"
Bette and Tina pulled back from each other but didn’t completely sever contact, their arms were still wrapped around each other’s waist. They gave each other a confused look before looking back at Roger.
"What do you mean? Did you cancel Tina’s performance?"
Tina had to press her lips together to hold back her sobs. She didn’t want to cancel her performance but knew there was no other way.
"Are you kidding? The crowd would have eaten us alive. I got them to agree into using the lyrical version of her songs"
Bette’s eyes widened before she glanced around and lowered her voice, "You can’t be serious, you want her to lip sing?"
"You make it sound like it’s a bad thing"
"Because it is a bad thing, Roger. Do you have any idea how risky this is?"
"Don’t worry, I got both Brian and Amanda to sign a contract forbidding them to talk about this to anyone. No one has to know"
Frustrated, Bette let go of Tina and walked up to Roger, "That’s not the only thing we have to worry about. If anything goes wrong, anything this could fall very bad on Tina. Do you know how many artists’ careers have been ruined because word got out that they lip sing on stage?"

Well, the damage is done… things are out in the open now, except for Ava’s role in Tina’s performance going awry. Tina’s career can be resurrected/redeemed by a few strategic live performances, killer acoustic sets would dispel all the rumors about lip syncing. Bette could set that up and it’d be fine. As far as the broken promise, though… Bette is going to have to work a lot harder. She needs to stop being so impulsive and fully let go and trust Tina. She’s still hanging on to the bad remnants from her time with Ava and it’s not doing her relationship any favors. I think Tina can get past it all, though. She probably needs her own closure with Ava. She can forgive her and forget her. Tina will be better off without her rat of a cousin in her life anyway. Thanks for posting, Liah. :)
i really can’t believe tina went ahead with the lip sync. that was so disappointing cos i would have thought she was a lot smarter than that. she should have trusted bette to know that bette would know enough and that her woman would only mean good for her. I hope that tina’s singing career can be restored to pre-lip sync incident. As for the report on ava and bette, too bad bette. it’s just time to face the music. I thought Tina reassurance to bette was really thoughtful.

Okay let me say, I’m actually glad for once that my gf’s loud tuba-like snoring has kept me up bcuz i was able to read ur update. Ha! That was an awesome chapter! Thanks for the update. Sad to see this story end, but that’s life. Ditto to the above comments. Hopefully Bette has learned a valuable lesson on trust and Tina can learn forgiveness. And, hopefully those men in white coats will find Ava and take her back to the looney bin. Awesome writing. Thanks for the story.
Great update. I know it is wrong to think of evil doings for people like ava but she needs a serious ass- kicking or career takedown however you choose to do it. I hope Tina just accidently runs into ava and let the little bitch brag about what she has done to Tina and when and that she will get Bette back. If that happens let Tina strike without thinking and beat her ass within an inch of her life and make her admit to what she has done, on purpose to sabotage Tina and Bette’s relationship. She is stupid enough to admit it to Tina when she thinks she has won. Gosh, please let someone find out the truth, most of all Tina. Thanks for posting.
all caught up… ava needs to go down… some one had to see her that night… some where there has to be a tape… and what about the two who were up there… that guy roger… he should be grilling them and finding out what went wrong… great story… will hate to see it end… i have a feeling sam may come through and tell every thing that ava planned to the media… can’t wait for more…

Dang! :-$ so the story is almost reaching the ending and then you-Liah… Left us with this heart breaking chapter ending.. full of cursing towards Ava and… Technology might fail Tina’s lipsync performance… But please let it captured all that bad deeds of Ava’s!! CCTV!? Argh… :-/ anyway thanks for the update Liah! PPVS?!? :-)
