    As One Door Closes…

They were now settling in to their new abode. It didn’t take Shane long to get back into the swing of work with Tina. She was an incredibly talented woman behind the camera and soon after, other directors wanted her for their projects. Shortly afterwards, she landed a few camera jobs here and there until Tina was ready for her talents. The East Coast lifestyle only made her laugh at how ridiculous the fast pace was in New York. She and Tina joked about it all the time, wondering if they were all going so fast to die sooner.

Peggy and Tina met everyday for two weeks and went over everything about the new studio. Peggy had acquired the two spaces on either side of the main studio to expand into and the remodeling had just been finished before Tina arrived. Tina had free reins to do what she wanted to in the studio space in creating a successful movie business, as Peggy trusted her implicitly.

Tina called up Caitlyn, her assistant in LA, to ask if she was interested in a new job and it didn’t long for her to say ‘yes’; she arrived in two weeks and moved into a rental of Peggy’s near Central Park. She was one happy woman. You couldn’t find a better team than Tina, Shane and Caitlyn. Within a month, they also hired a personal assistant to Tina, one James Prescott to do what needed to be done to keep her abreast of her ‘to-do’ list and on task.

Caitlyn became Assistant Executive of the studios, to run Shaolin when Tina had to be gone working on various projects. Caitlyn was a natural at her new position as she had paid attention to Tina and the way she had done her amazing work in LA. James and Tina soon ran like a well-oiled machine, in that, they were a good match for one another. It was as if he could read her every move and stay one step ahead of her and she loved him for what he brought to the table that contributed to the success of the studio in a short time.

After the incident and within six months, Tina had hired a variety of intelligent and talented women to direct, produce and write movies for the studio as well as work behind the scenes for makeup and set design. Currently, they had five movies being filmed and produced, and they had good feelings that when they were released they would be amazing successes. The studio had even managed to hire a few well-known actresses and actors for the projects.

Peggy was quite proud of her ‘daughter’, and Tina was astounded at her success with her movies. It wouldn’t take Tina, Shane, James and Caitlyn long to make this small studio the most successful in New York and Peggy was thrilled. Now she could focus on other things in her life and move forward in other directions. She kept Helena out of this loop of her New York movie studio for Tina’s protection and busy with other things. She opened a Peabody Foundation Office for Helena to run in LA.

She knew that Helena had a good heart when it came to social causes so she was given the reins to choose her projects for donation and support. Helena’s main project was the Center for Social Justice in downtown LA. The Director, Torey Hayden, was a good friend of hers and a very talented businesswoman. The center supported many children in poverty with providing education classes along with nutritional support and stimulating activities throughout the day. Helena would do well with this endeavor to support her friend.

As it came to be, Helena and Torey became the best of friends and started to spend more time together working on a strong friendship along with a strong business partnership. When Tina had disappeared and it finally dawned on Helena that Tina would never be hers, she had no choice but to move forward with her life. She worked hard on her relationship with Michelle knowing that she was now pregnant and that maybe they could be family together with the baby. Little did she know…
