A few weeks later after the girls were all unpacked every thing was set up they decided it was time to start talking about a house warming party and plus Dana was getting fed up of Howie calling.

They had arranged to meet Dana’s mother for lunch and Alice thought that it would be nice for them to involve Sharon in their plans. So they head out to a local Italian bistro, Alice with her note pad and pen to make notes for what she would need to get for the occasion.

Inside the bistro at the table the women had just ordered their food. ” So Dane before we get into a nice conversation. Howie has been hassling me to ask you when this house warming is going to be.” Alice and Dana laughed because he had only called the day before and asked the same question. ” Erm actually mom we would like for you to have some involvement in the planning of our house warming we haven’t set a date or anything so we thought we could do it over lunch. As long as you want to Alice just thought it would be a nice way for us to spend some quality time together.” ” Oh I love the idea. I would love nothing more than to help my two favorite girls throw a party.” ” Are you sure Sharon because if you have other plans that need your time then am sure me and Dana will cope I just thought it would be nice as we haven’t been able to spend much time together recently.” ” Of course I am sure Alice dear, I think it is a wonderful idea but can we keep it a secret from Howie lets leave him hanging for a while.” ” Now I like the way you think Sharon Although I am sure it is the older sister who should be the one who wants to torture Howie and not you.” ” Hey I was just not going to bother inviting the little brat but hey a little torture will do the kid good. Nice thinking mom now I know where I got it from.” ” You two are incorrigible.”

Once the food had arrived they started to talk about who they were going to invite. ” So obviously the gang is going to be there. You, Dad and Howie.” ” Dane do you want a big thing or just a few of us we could have like a BBQ or something.” ” I like the idea of just a small thing I think suites us better.” ” What about your mother Alice will you be inviting her,” Sharon asked. Alice looked at Dana and then back at Sharon. ” Err well I hadn’t really thought about it. What do you think Dane?” ” Al she is your mom I think it is your discion if you want to invite her, But I don’t want you to if it is going to make you uncomfortable all night because it is our night.” ” Well how about we just leave that and you can decide when you want to.” ” I think we should invite her it is about time we all got together.” ” So does that mean you are inviting your brother and sister to babe. Because I have only ever met them once and that was years ago and they were just leaving when I arrived.” ” I don’t remember you ever meeting them babe.” ” Yeah just for like two minutes I was coming to pick you up remember I was going on tour for two weeks in France and we were going out for a meal then you were coming to stay with me so we could have our movie week.” ” How do you remember these things babe I think I sort of remember that.” ” I remember everything about you Al.” ” So are you going to invite your brother and sister the Alice.” ” Yeah I should probably tell them I have moved house at some point.” ” You haven’t told them yet.” ” Sharon you should understand that me and my family are not very close my family is Dana and the gang.” ” Well you are our family now too.” ” Well thank you that means a lot to me you must think I have them most dysfunctional family in the world.” ” Of course not dear.” ” Al hon. do they know that we are together.” ” Well mom knows so I would expect that she has told. Well everybody, you know what my mother is like.” ” But you haven’t told your brother and sister.” ” Well not personally you know we only ever talk to each on the holidays once or twice and even then it doesn’t really constitute as talking ‘ Hi how are you? Are the kids ok? Yes I know mum is spending more money. Ok merry Christmas tell the kids I love them.’ You know what I am getting at not the heart filled conversations except for the kids bit.” ” I know Al I just thought you would have mentioned it to them or they would have asked you at least if you were seeing someone.” ” Well. Look how about this when we get home I will call Jolene and tell her about us and invite her, mum and Jay to our house warming it is about time they got to see how happy I am. And it is about time I let you get to know my family.” ” I think that is a wonderful idea as long as it is what you want I don’t want you to feel like you have to walk on eggshells this is our house warming and I don’t want you to be worrying about what your mum or brother and sister think.” ” No I want to do this it is about time you got to meet them and plus I get to rub it in there face that I am so happy and living with the one and only Dana Fairbanks. Just like they did to me when they got married.” ” Well as long as it is what you want I will gladly rub it in their face with you if they did that to you.” Sharon was smiling at the way the two interacted she was so proud of Dana for the way she reacted to Alice. ” I am so glad to see sibling rivalry is in every family.” The three laughed. ” Ok so what else do we need to decide?” ” Well I think a date would help.” ” Yeah that would probably be useful.” ” So what about two weeks from today because if we leave it any later we are going to run into Dana’s birthday and then a couple of weeks after that it is our Anniversary.” ” Well that sounds perfect to me.” ” Ok then so two weeks from today.”
